Guns kill people as much as people who drive cars do, It depends on the one who handles it.
I feel bad that I get to go see my kids Christmas play today and there are parents that will not be able to do that, my heart breaks for them!! I can not even go to the store to buy my kid a gift without thinking of what the 'best' people have lost right now! Last edited by harmony; 12-18-2012 at 12:05 PM. |

I'm a big fan of ' The Voice'...they opened last night with a tribute to the tragedy at Sandyhook.
The singing (and signs of victims) tore me right out of the frame . (It was a nice tribute)Here's the link: 'The Voice' pays tribute to Newtown victims as coaches, contestants sing 'Hallelujah' - The Clicker Bless them all and their families ....Kat Last edited by KatsMuse; 12-18-2012 at 12:24 PM. |

The Voice tribute was very touching...it made me cry.
It was not lost on me while I was writing out my Christmas cards and my beautiful children were within arms reach of me that those poor families are suffering an unimaginable loss. |

I for one cannot imagine how the parents of the little children that were lost are coping at all. So close to what is supposed to be the happy time of the season to be so sad. I can't even watch the news reports without crying. I'm glad they took the dogs up there. Dogs can be such a great comfort.

I have watched this tragedy unfold over the past few days on the news here in the UK. There are so many echoes of Dunblane
![]() Dunblane school massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I am mum to a 5 year old boy, and I just can't imagine having to live with the heartache of losing him in such a cruel and horrific way. My heart and thoughts go out to all the families who have lost a loved one. |

This is poem written by my niece.
"Tragedy 1214" This poem is on the shooting that took place last week, "why?" is the question and an answer we all seek. Bravery shown from the smallest, true without a doubt, One said "I know karate, I'll lead the way out." Teachers acted quick, hid students away, Shielding them from harm, some died on that day. Tiny little children that witnessed horrible sights, Tears of the innocent now shed day and night. Eight little boys and twelve little girls, Six of their teachers taken from this world. Done by the hands of someone not taught, How to deal with anger and not dwell on the thought. When you have a child, a person once said, Your hearts no longer in you but outside instead. Many families that night couldn't put their children to bed, Their heart was taken from them, they're now amongst the dead. Everyday in the news we hear something that makes us cry, The answer is very simple to the question why. The only thing to fix this mess is character education, When taught to everyone it will end the devastation. Almah Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Just got back from Newtown a couple hours ago. I was in the area and wanted to pay my respects, so I drove over there. Very sad scene to say the least. Kind of reminded me of immediately after 9/11 with all the memorials everywhere, but in a small town instead of a big city. Same feeling.
Lots of flowers and candles. Saw a few signs in random spots around town with just the word "WHY?" written on it. Lots of people just standing around without much to say. Very sad to say the least. Took a couple pictures of some of the memorial stuff with my phone. It was pretty cold outside, so it was hard to hold my hands still so it's kind of blurry. Just wanted to share. |
