Hey Everyone, I'm home....Thank you so much for your well wishes..
So I went to the ER on Wednesday night with severe stomach pains. (I had gone to the ER back in June with the same thing and they found a blockage in my common bile duct, which they took care of, so I thought maybe it had plugged up again). So they admit me.... They do bloodwork on me and a bunch of tests and tell me that first off my magnesium and potassium are dangerously low, so I need to stay at least long enough to get those up. Then I have an ultrasounds and x-rays done and the first doctor comes in in briefly (and I mean briefly, I don't think he even looked at me) and tells me he think my gallbladder needs to come out because it looks like stones. So I'm thinking, "okay, great...Another surgery". Then...I hear nothing back from him. The night goes by and in the morning another, female doctor comes in and I ask her when I'm set for surgery, she says, "Oh, no...We think it's an Ulcer". So I'm relieved, but confused. She tells me they want to do an Endoscopy on me for a better diagnosis...So I sit there for another 8 hours until they finally bring me down for one, and after the procedure, they find nothing wrong with me. ![]() I feel like they jerked me around and I wasted my time there. Don't tell me one thing, then another, then another. Give me definitive answers....

Ugh, great time, eh?
The bright side is they found nothing. Glad you are ok. Someone I know has gall stones and she was tOld surgery won't fix it-- she would always have to watch what she eats. So she is holding off and controlling the pain attacks with diet. |

Thanks guys....
I guess there is one upside to all of this. In addition to the severe stomach pains, I was feeling extremely fatigued. I chalked it up to not eating enough. I had even been trying to eat more healthier, frequent meals with no success....but I guess my Magnesium and Potassium levels were so low that I couldn't combat it... Since I've been out of the hospital I have so much more energy, so I guess it wasn't a total waste. They gave me scripts for Magnesium and Potassium pills, as well as "Protonics"? for my stomach (I guess that's just for overall health for your stomach? I don't know why my levels were so low, but at least now they should stay up and I should have be able to maintain my energy

Glad you're feeling better, Melina, and that you didn't need surgery after all.

Thank you for that. The nurse really didn't cover anything with me, even when I asked about the medications. I would definitely NOT go back to that hospital, and they're supposed to be one of the better ones around. I appreciate the info.
