Christmas Cookie Vote - Page 2

I think my recipe is the odd one, everyone else I know (that isn't yankee Dutch) makes them the same way as your link. We leave off the peppermint and instead use almond extract. I think mine are crisco, flour, powdered sugar, salt, 1 egg, vanilla, and almond extract. They are dense cookies and kind of bland (all our dutch food is very bland, lol).

I'm voting eggnog because those sound delicious.

You could make a batch of both, FedEx them to me and I will let you know which is better........

To be fair...I think you should send all of us a sample. Certainly wouldn't want to give you the wrong advice.

So true. We need to do a taste test. I voted for eggnog, but to be honest, I am addicted to chocolate. LOL!

The decision has been made....my friend that is coming down is bringing stuff for her "Jew cookies" as she put it. She's a nut. So she'll light her menorah for the last two days of Hanukkah at my house and we'll make rugelach. No idea what they are but they look good!

I vote eggnog, but you knew that already... Besides, I said I'd make them at home if we ran out of time ;-)

FYI rugelach are amazing cookies -- think butter/cream cheese pastry meets cinnamon roll in small delectable packages that are so incredibly tasty and absolutely horrible for you at the same time. In a word, delish!

We're putting up the Christmas tree this weekend too! I'm moving furniture right now!

And we have to pick up the stuff for the eggnog cookies Saturday morning. I didn't write down what we needed but we have everything else.

HUZZAH!!!! So very excited! I actually bought a tree this year because I was missing having one (the past three years I had one at the ex's house). So I decided a Hanukkah bush would be completely acceptable... I just need blue lights!

As for cookies, I'm pretty impressed that the two are still neck and neck!
