Thinking back on all the technological advances that my grand parents lived through, like automobiles, radios, indoor plumbing, airplanes, etc, and then the technological advances that my parents saw before I was showed up, like television, home video recorder, elevators, high rises, people walking on the moon, I feel rather short-changed.
Ok, I have seen home computers, cell phones, microwave ovens, patriot missles, and the internet, but we were raised with Star Trek and The Jetsons. I really want one of the little burn your butt launchers to hang on my back to get me from here to there, or time travel, or disintegrating here, and reintegrating perfectly somewhere else, that would be ok. And, I would really like to be able to lie down in the doctor's office, fully clothed and have them run a scanner down me, diagnose the problem, run the scanner again, and fix it -- that would be cool. And what about those dinners we saw on Bugs Bunny, put a pill on the plate, add water and poof! a full course meal, dehydrated rehydrated RAW doesn't really compare. Ok, so we saw cars go from medium sized sedans, to station wagons, to jeep to minivans, to SUVs, to compact ecomonomy sedans, and then those massive ugly expensive tank things, hummers, and now we have these glorified lawn mowers puttsing about on the road ways. Why can't they get a little creative? I want a car that has hydrolic lifts so that you can lift the body of the vehicle up on one side or another so instead of passing the dude in front of you, you can just lift on over top of him -- that would be cool. How about a car that doubles as a snow mobile. Wheels lift up and it rides on a tread -- that would be cool. Remember Chitty Chitty Bang, Bang? That bug could turn into a boat. That would be interesting, but not very useful for me. I still want my annihilation button. I think everyone would drive 100% better if everyone could just blast bad drivers off the road. I think we must be past our hay-day, and humans are on the decline. The rate of change in technology just isn't keeping up.

I know what I want to wear on my next job interview.
I love the J K Rowlings books. It would be so cool if some of that stuff is real. Not the negative stuff -- that stuff is real. I mean, I know a couple of dementors. Well, we all probably know a few.
