I got bit by a brown recluse a couple months ago. It happened while I was SLEEPING!! ( and i only know it was a recluse because I killed about 5 of them in my house in the months after that...)
I thought it was a mosquito bite at first, but the next day it blistered, then ulcered, and then literally ate away at my skin. I have a dent in my leg and a NASTY scar...right on my calf...

Took over two months to heal. Im not sure I can even say its completely healed because it is the wierdest looking bite/scar ever. Such a terrible experience, and now I have a dark, nasty, indented scar on my leg.
(and im arachnaphobic, so the fact that this spider bit me in my bed grosses me out so bad lol)

Ok, I quit reading after Willy's post.

Darnit! I have to go to sleep in a little while!!!

Spiders come out when you are helpless and unaware sleeping. They wait until it is dark and quiet and then the climb into the bed and...

Babs is NO USE against spiders!!!

Uhg!

Yes I was bitten twice by significant spiders. (But not like Wildo's.) I used to catch them and take them outside. But then within two months I was bitten twice by the little turds. The first just burned like I was putting my finger on the electric stove burner. The second I did not feel. But I had an irritation between my toes. I thought, athlete's foot? I used Absorbine Jr, on it. It did not work. It got worse. Finally, I went to the doctor and she said it was probably a spider bite, and gave me antibiotics. It's gone now. But I am no longer the friend of spiders.

Thanks Wildo, thanks for another sleepless night. Just thanks. And I am sick too. Whatever was going around got to me. And now I am worried about spiders. I knew I shouldn't open this one.

Selzer, if it makes you feel any better, this one did not bite me when I was sleeping.

It was hiding in my clothes.
