goes up the day after Thanksgiving, along with outside lights being turned on. comes down the morning after Christmas day..... the outside lights can stay on until new years, but any christmas specific decor should be taken down the day after, as well

There is a great place to get a fresh tree near us...but you have to buy one as soon as they get them...usually the weekend after Thanksgiving. My daughter and I got one and brought it in the house. We didn't get it decorated until the other day. It will sadly come down on New Year's Day.

We get a live tree sometime between the 2-3rd week in December and it stays until it dies, usually mid January. Other decorations stay up til early February.

Mine goes up about a week before christmas and usually comes down the same day...I have cats..big fat ones that climb up the trunk to the top and then I have dogs n cats that pull on the garland or get tangled in the lights as they run when I yell at them.

Tradition for my family growing up was up the weekend after Thanksgiving and down beginning to mid January.
We put ours up sometime in the first week or two of December (when there's time), and it'll be down the first or second week of Jan. I LOVE christmas trees and I really enjoy having them..... so I let it last as long as I can!
