Tomorrow would have been my mom's 60th birthday. The last 6 months have been a struggle without her. We all have handled it so differently, but we have stuck by each other. I thought that we would have problems talking about her amongst ourselves or me in general with people, but I find that it helps. I love telling stories about my mom and I find myself smiling when I tell them. My youngest sister is struggling the most, so tomorrow is special for all of us, but mostly her. The whole family is getting together tomorrow. My youngest sister bought these lanterns that you light and they float in the sky. Each one of us will release one of those and she got my dad one that is a heart(which he doesn't know about). Then me, my dad, my youngest sister, and a family friend that is like a sister will go to my work's Christmas Party. We're hoping that my dad enjoys himself. After that we are going with my youngest sister so she can get a tattoo in memory of my mom....it will be a butterfly on a snowflake, my mom loved snow. So tomorrow will be rough and I'm hoping that we all don't fall apart
Anyways thanks for listening.Attached is a picture of my mom's memorial in the yard..since this was taken the yard has been fixed up real nice with grass and the roses climbing up the seat/arch came up nicely. http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...attach/jpg.gif

Thinking of you and your family today... I love the memorial you made for your mom! I like what you have planned. As hard as it will be , try to think of the good times and things. Hugs to all of you. ![]() Kat(I can sort of relate...My Mom's birthday would've been on the 10th. I lost her last May and then, my father died 8 days later. Every Birthday, Anniversary and Holiday is difficult for me. I can feel it coming on already...maybe I will use some of your ideas, they are very nice )

llombardo the garden and your plan for tommorrow are wonderful ways to honor your mom's memory. My thoughts are with you and your family as you come together . I think the thing that would please your mom the most is that you are all together.

For someone who has never met your mom, the way your family feels about her and how you miss her in your life, saddens me that I didn't get the opportunity to meet her in this life. I hope I will in the next.

I'm sure that your mom is looking down on her memorial and enjoying the love and beauty that was put into it. I was in my 50's when my mother passed and the first 5 years where very hard on me and hollidays were never the same. Hope that you and your family can make some new memories to share, and that the holidays will bring you even closer together.

I'm sorry, the first year is so hard. Birthdays, holidays, it all just sucks. In 6 days it will be two years since my dad died, and this year was a little easier than the first year. It's nice that your family is all so close and you can support each other through it.
Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.
