There's no way for me to know what Mac & Bart would do if we weren't home. I would hope that their barking would scare off an intruder but if it didn't, I hope that they would hide so they wouldn't get hurt.

Whereas I really can't be sure what my dogs would do, here is what I suspect they'd do:
If I weren't home and all four dogs were loose in the house (would never happen, but just for theory sake); all four dogs would be very vocal. Once the door was opened, Lonestar would make a break for freedom. I'd find him in the next county. Maggie could possibly take down the intruder, if he didn't notice her while coming in and tripped over her. Tug would bring him a toy and then bite him when he reached to take it (I know this for a fact). Hondo would stay engaged. I don't know if he'd bite or not, but he wouldn't back off and remain vocal. If I were home, all four dogs would be fighting amongst each other to check out the bloody remains on my floor. Body piercing by Ruger.

I *think* Saba would probably not even get off of her dog bed if someone broke in the house. If they stayed long enough, she may get up to sniff them, but I don't see her going out of her way to stop the bad guy from coming in. I have seen her race her to the other end of the back yard one night when my husband was coming up in the yard and she didn't know who it was. So I guess anything is possible. I am pretty sure that she would go into full combat though lol.My rescues vary too much for me to list what they would or wouldn't do.

If Kyleigh's any indication of what she's like when I'm home ... she would bark like crazy and try and break down the door!
A couple of months ago around 1 in the morning, someone came to the front door (hadn't even rang the bell yet or anything) and she went nuts at my bedroom door. THEN the door bell rang. As for someone actually coming into the house AFTER they've heard her bark? Well, you'd have to be pretty dumb LOL ... but I really don't know what she would do ... I'll have to go look for volunteers!
