I was reading an article earlier today that said there were 4-5 large companies looking into buying Hostess. One was the Flowers company here in Georgia. Looks like most analysts say that it is a viable brand and worth buying so it is doubtful the brand will disappear. Bet the chumps that paid $100 for a box of Twinkies will be hiding that fact
.Twinkies will likely survive Hostess sale

There were no Hostess products at the grocery store tonight, save a box of mini-donuts that I bought, mass hysteria already beginning, the cashier told me people bought multiple boxes all weekend.

This just in: A judge has sent Hostess and the baker's union
to an independent mediator to try and come up with an agreement. Depending on how that goes, we might have the real deal again before too long! I bet the union will work better towards it, since now they now management was NOT bluffing. I hope they do, not for my sake but for all those families, they can have decent holidays! |

One of the Colombo Baking plants, owned by Interstate Brands/Hostess is right around the corner from where I work, and they are one of our customers. There's currently an outstanding invoice that we won't be paid for, in addition to the invoice from last year due to an earlier reorganization, that we haven't been paid for. They've filed for bankruptcy prior to that as well, a few years ago. We'll miss them bringing over fresh *warm* bread when they needed a rush order, but more important is the people, some of whom we had a business relationship with, who are now out of a job. It's a sad thing all around.
