Not to mention, as stated earlier, there's many reasons I avoid "i" anything, due to limited ability to upgrade them. I went with a Samsung music player vs. ipod due to inability to upgrade the storage capacity and paying through the nose for what little storage you get.
Between that and lack of interface other than itunes, it was a no-brainer for me. |

Had a lenovo thinkpad through school, and I bumped it, dumped water on it, dropped it regularly, and generally just treated it very badly. It lived a ripe old age of 4 until I smashed the screen by dropping it from my bed. I now have a lenovo work laptop and wouldn't have it any other way. I dropped it from a meter high the other day and it shows no sign of wear or damage.

I can't stand Apple, everything is so proprietary and expensive! We went to the Apple store this week because DH has a MacBook (work laptop, no choice, has had lots of problems and he hates it) that is missing two screws on the bottom. Well they would not give him screws and when I asked where to buy a packet of them the guy said probably Amazon. WTF?!?! Their stuff is so proprietary you can't even get SCREWS for them AT the APPLE store! I said "you have got to be effing joking..." and walked out of the store, lol.

The lenovo looks pretty good too. Not sure if the graphics is adequate but I imagine it would be for 3D mapping? It is not like high speed game play. It looks like quality components for the price and a faster HDD even though a bit smaller.

Well I am pulling my hair out as much as usual on this! Ack! Some win 8 questions
Some typical tasks Photos, scanning, editing- minor stuff family photos - cropping color balance etc. Documents, scanning and downloaded PDF files Spreadsheets, Minor finanace SW, Maintan a web page where I copy and paste between web and word document This is all pretty minor stuff I think The mapping I am going to keep on the old laptop.... Part of me says just get a stinking desktop.......I really won't be needing to move this and can always carry files on an external drive. How does THIS look? I was thinking win 7 pro so I can backup onto an external hard drive not just DVDs HP Home & Home Office Store - We're sorry! or should I really just get over my win 8 angst.
