thanks everyone! I think I'm leaning toward the big ridge picture. I'd love to enter the running Kaiser (for stop motion and crispness) or the fall Kaiser (very serene emotion, though I wish it had more color) but I'm getting most responses here and on facebook about the sun/lake/big ridge. Its an hdr image, so there is a little technical skill involved with bracketing exposures (though, its not exactly hard to do), however it still seems dark to me. Unfortunately I've lightened it as much as I can without introducing too much more noise. I had one person who thought it could be the moon at night (instead of the sun during the day) so I do like that it can be interpreted different ways. Photography is art, isn't it?
I wish the spider web picture came out a little better. I loved the bokeh as well but I cropped out the sun flare at the upper left of the image. It was a little too distracting. With the deer, I wish I had a nice picture of him without the tree, but alas I don't. I kind of like the tree though, when I think about it, because it makes the deer seem a little more elusive...as if I had to hide behind something to manage a photograph without spooking him. With the frisbee picture, only Kaiser's face is in focus...which is good because your eye keeps wanting to go back to that spot (and he is definitely engaged with that frisbee!) but in reality I would have liked greater depth of field. Unfortunately it is very hard to throw a frisbee and photograph at the same time, and I was only at f/4 to get a decent shutter speed. The football picture isn't technically my favorite effort, but it was one of the better ones from the game. I kept wishing I had a super tele lens so i didn't have to crop all my initial photographs. Ah...the wish list gets longer ![]() Oh, I thought about putting the Kaiser on the rock into black and white, which actually looked pretty good...but ultimately I think the soft yellows set the mood and remind you that fall was on the horizon.

I appreciate your effort however I would prefer if people didn't save/edit my pictures (copyright issues). I know its the internet and I'm not sure how you got a large version of my picture, but just something to keep in mind from here on out

Personally I like the deer, but I'm a little biased, the deer holds a spiritual connection for me
