It was a little bit of a joke, should have put a smiley. Though truthfully, I hope that child doesn't try to do that with a dog that is not theirs.
IMO, dogs should be left alone when eating and children should be taught not to bother them and there are better ways to do that without annoying the dog and possibly putting the child in harms way.

Mine was a bit of a joke too.
I wouldn't let a small child do it, but with each of my rescues, I did a similar thing. I would give them the bowl, take it away, and give it back. I wanted to be sure they knew it was my food and that I controlled the resources in the house. I still have all of my fingers.
