Thanks everyone. I will look into Ft. Collins and the other areas mentioned more closely now. I know my dogs would love the cooler weather and so would I.

We lived in Colorado Springs, by the AF Academy. We bought property near the city of Deckers where we plan to build a home and retire. We would be there now, except the Navy doesn't have any ships there and my husband did every job there he could take. I loved every minute we lived in Colorado and I dream of the day we can go back. People are nice, the climate is very comfortable...NO HUMIDITY...FEW bugs...snow doesn't stick around...people are friendly...I could not have built a place that we fit into better if I had planned it myself. If you love the outdoors, you will have a year round opportunity to be outside. I've only ever met ONE person who didn't like Colorado. She never left the base if she could avoid it and she could not wait to get back to Mechanicsburg, PA. I would have helped her pack her car...
