We are at a loss. My son has been in school with "Louis" since elementary school and both are/were Freshmen at Towson High. There was a lot of misinformation going out on Sunday and details are still not very forthcoming. My older girls remember Louis from their swim team days.
Please pray for this family and for Louis's friends. I cannot imagine such a loss. He was a great kid. North Baltimore Aquatic Club, swimmer Louis Lowenthal, Meadowbrook - baltimoresun.com |

I could not imagine losing my son. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. How is your son taking this?

My son is doing OK. He and Louis weren't best friends, but they knew each other and had mutual friends. Some of the kids are totally freaked. I think my son and a group of boys will go to the memorial service to support the family. As a parent, I cannot imagine this. Just hits way too close to home.
It's almost like Louis was following in Michael Phelps' footsteps - same swim club, same schools, practices and wet hair before school. I just can't get this out of my mind. Thank you for your prayers. Jan |

How sad. Losing a brother was bad, losing one of my kids...I can only imagine.
The family will really appreciate the kids going. It was amazing to see how many kids showed up for my brother's funeral in a small town. I can't express how much it meant to my mother.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. Prayers for this young boys parents, friends and community.
It's very scary for kids when one of their peers pass away. When my daughter was in elementary school a little girl in her class had cancer and went outside to play during recess as usual and came back put her head on her desk and passed away. The kids and teacher actually thought she was napping because she would sometimes rest her head on her desk. It was very sad and confusing...I thought the school and community handled everything very well. Again, sorry to hear about this young boy

I'm so sorry to hear this
![]() We just lost a freshman in our local HS, as well, a girl who was on the soccer team. Her and her mom were killed when a car crossed the center line and hit them head on. So tragic
