Computer literate people - odd ebay email. - Page 2

I get similar emails a lot from faux PayPal ... I always report them and block them from my email but they get by the block anyway.

Thank you all for your replies - I did as suggested, about trying to log on to ebay and indeed, my password had been disabled and I had to reset it. The email I received was also in my messages queue, so it seems it was all legit (wouldn't have known how to check to see if it was without the input and suggestions here - thanks!).

And no, I did not click on any of the links in the email, even I know better!

Still wondering how/when my password would have been compromised? Like I said, I'm very rarely on ebay, only log in from my home computer, and I live on my own so no one else is around to use my computer and play around with login passwords to try and get on to different sites. Dogs are almost always with me (I take them to work), so it's not them - which leaves only one logical explanation: My cats have learned to use computers!!! (The world is in trouble now!).

Who know how they do it. When I was on vacation Facebook changed my password and disabled my account because someone was accessing it from Hong Kong. I don't use any apps/games on Facebook (never allow anything to access my account or info), my security is friends only, and a big part of my job is cleaning up malware and dealing with information security so needless to say I'm very careful with all my accounts.
