Default Please update on you and Hurricane Sandy

We are watching and worrying about all of you in the path of this monster storm.

Please check in if you can!

Have you evacuated? Are you somewhere safe? Are you prepared?

What is going on where you are?

It's just windy here right now, it doesn't look like Long Island is going to get a lot of rain. I am in the middle of the island so we don't have to worry about flooding. We are all prepared, lots of dog food, plenty of water for everyone, candles, rechargables fully charged.
Enjoying the electric and internet while I still have it.

Everything quiet here in Watertown. We are supposed to get high winds, that's about it but it's all quiet. However, I still bottled a lot of water and got prepared as much as I can, just in case.

I may not be able to update much, I'm sure we will lose power,,winds are about 30 mph's gusting upwards.

I am on the eastern shoreline of CT, at the mouth of the CT RIver, where it dumps into LI Sound.. about 1/2 -3/4 of a mile from the ocean (straight out my front door!) They've mandatory evac'd people across the street from me, they are low lying and closer to ocean.

I'm not leaving, not real worried about water, more high winds..

Quiet in NEPA right now. Leaving work at noon to get home before the winds start.

Here, right outside of Philadelphia, the winds and rain are just starting to pick up. With the rain we are supposed to get, and being so close to the river and several creeks, flooding is my main concern.

We have the generator and the sump pump ready to go! Our backyard becomes a lake during just a bad rain storm...don't even want to think about what it will look like today!!

I am apparently ground zero for landfall. It is windy. Trees are bending. High tides have been a bitch. Bug dug a moat around our back step last night while we were taking down some branches in the dark. It was pretty deep and is full now.
I did not take this seriously at all so I would say we are not prepared.
