Default The game, Rocksmith

If you've not heard of it, its a game for PS3, or Xbox360. Its like guitar hero, but more teaching tool than game. You plug a real electric guitar into it, and it teaches you to play guitar..

So playing guitar is something I've always wanted to learn to do. So yesterday I bought a PS3, Rocksmith, a Gibson Les Paul, and associated accessories. And just found out I can plug the usb guitar cable into my mac and use it in garageband (and I don't really know anything about what that program does yet).

Anywho, I'm excited! Amazon has shipped everything but the guitar lol. Anyone play this game yet? Thoughts? General advice?

My husband and I have it and it's so cool. The hubby is learning how to play really quickly and it's even fun for me to watch too. I'm a really crappy teacher so this thing is a blessing disguised as a game.

My best advice for you is to play the crap out of the mini games in it.
They will help you alot with just being able to learn how to move your fingers around and to teach you were the notes are. They are really a great asset to the system. My husband is learning so much faster than I did just because of these games and learning to not get lost on the neck.

Either way, I'm sure your going to love it!! It's such an awesome game. Enjoy it!!!

I read perhaps the greatest pro of the game is that you are pretty much forced to have better spacial awareness of your hands b/c you have to watch the screen vice the guitar. I'm super excited.. but amazon says "ships within 1 month" for the guitar

O well that stinks! You could just cancel the guitar and go find a decent cheap one at Guitar Center or something like that.
I already had an electric guitar at the house so we just plugged that one in and it worked perfectly.
And yes that is very very true...you can watch your hands a little bit but for the most part you have to keep your head up. Another neat thing is that it comes with little stickers that you put on the neck for the fret numbers so you aren't having to sit there and count where to go to.
It really is an awesome system.
