Default I have a rant

Why do people rant so much about other people?

It happens alla the time!

Lol.

Sometimes people just have to vent. Most of the time the safest place to do it is the anonymous internet.

I guess we do because if we did it in IRL, we could be arrested. But honestly, we should be more tolerant...

Because I'm clearly inferior to you as a human being.

Sometimes I wonder why certain people are even here. All they do is start random threads that have nothing to do with the point of this forum (which has really gone down hill a lot lately) and don't contribute at all anywhere else.

Really, it all started when this board changed formats. We lost a lot of good members. There's my rant.

See, this kind of right here annoys me. Are you a licensed psychologist? Do you actually have the knowledge or expertise to call someone insane? Because seriously, you don't know what insane is. I've been on forums for 12+ years and some people come on here and vent about that stuff because they trust the community and feel like they have nobody to turn to in real life. They don't do it because they know people will think they're crazy if they said that. Almost everything I say online I say in person to people.

And for the record, someone who is insane most likely doesn't care if people think the are sane or not. Calling perfectly sane people who have a little anxiety "quackadoodles" is cruel. You know what insane is? Insane is being so out of whack you can't even handle driving a car. Insane is needing to live in a group home because you can't take care of yourself. Insane is wiping your crap on the walls, or hallucinating and thinking that someone is trying to kill you, or spacing out for 5+ hours because you're hallucinating so bad. Insanity is when you have become incompetent.

I have a big issue with people calling others crazy or wackadoodles just because other people think differently from them or have different stress levels. Why? Because my mother had brain damage and got schizophrenia. I've seen insanity in the face. I've been to those hospitals. Normal people who come on forums to vent? They're NOT insane! Stop calling them that. It's extremely derogatory, hurtful, and is no different than calling a person mentally retarded/deficient.

By calling someone a jerk, or intolerant, you're pointing out that they are being mean or intolerant. By calling someone insane you're accusing them of have a mental illness which they have zero control over. It's a disease.

And to end my point, if a person is coming to a forum because they feel isolated and alone in real life, then who are we to judge? Maybe we should help them out. I don't hate people for driving large SUVs, though I do vent about the obnoxious ones. I don't see any reason to hate a person who is feeling alone and troubled in life and has come to me for help.

Oh, no! Don't bogart my rant thread with a new rant!
It's my very first rant ever I think.
I was just having fun after seeing all the rants about everybody else.

"Quackadoodle" is a derogatory term.

So newcomers are unwelcome? The forum changed format and people didn't like the new layout, so they left. Understandable. But don't you think that at one point, the great people of this forum were once like newbies? I don't think these forums are going downhill. I think the chat section is open to topics of all kinds (outside of politics) and people can start whatever topic they want. It's called a chat section for a reason and it's not meant for solely talking about dogs. If you only want to see dog conversation 24/7, don't come to this section. Honestly I fail to see how threads of different things are ruining these forums. Maybe I should just leave, if that is how you feel. Because I'm new, and I make some unrelated threads sometimes.
