Your Controversial Opinions

I saw this thread on another forum and it's working out pretty well so I thought I'd try it here. It's a thread where you list your more "controversial" opinions. These could be related to society, the entertainment industry, your hobbies, food, these forums, etc. It's all in good fun. If you see someone who says something you don't like, be aware that this is part of the nature of this thread. I don't want to see back and forth WHAT DID YOU SAY ARGH posts because this is just supposed to be for fun. Don't single anyone out.

A few of mine:
- Whipped cream is disgusting.
- Console games should stop trying to pretend to be PC games and gaming companies need to start treating them differently.
- Microsoft is not an evil company (many of my friends seem to think it is).
- I don't care if people are only getting a "light buzz", if you have to drink to be around your friends and can't have fun sober, you have a problem.
- Emoticons are the best things ever and are meant to be used and abused.
- Alcohol is awful.

There's nothing more disgusting than american cheese and sour cream. Just thinking about those two things make me gag.

Agreed about alcohol. It's amazing how all it takes is a couple drinks to turn a normal person into a complete idiot.

I'm not a big fan of chocolate.
The amount of technology the human race is in possession of and the rate at which it is advancing scares me and seems wrong at times.
I prefer portable game consoles to mobile gaming.
Final Fantasy XIII was a GOOD game.
I support the death penalty.
I think prostitution should be legalized and regulated, though I will not utilize it.
I think marijuana should be legalized and regulated, though again, I will not utilize it.
I support gay marriage.

I HATE tax time and I am still confused why everybody gets so much money back.

I'm an adult woman....and I still play video games sometimes with hubby. Call of Duty, Resident Evil, etc.... LOL

I love youtube. I can figure out to do anything by watching youtube. Hairstyles, makeup, fix a broken pipe, etc....

Oh, and I love to drink some wine!!!!!!!

• While I respect it and the choice others have made, I can never bring myself to believe with religions
• I honestly believe some people should be sterilized and never, ever allowed to breed
• I believe many doctors are out there simply to make a profit rather than to help their patients become healthy

Our society talks the talk on respecting veterans and valuing their experience, but fails walking the walk

After years of the military giving me challenging and complex missions, responsible for millions of dollars of equipment and hundreds of Soldiers, I can't get civilian employers to give me the time of day. Yes I am a little pissed about it.

Oh man, looks like I'm gonna have to break the ice with some more controversial ones!

- fancy things like smelly cheese, expensive wine, etc taste and smell absolutely horrid to me.
- I'd rather pay for my kids to go to good private schools than pay for them to go through college.
- We are over vaccinated and do not need to go to the doctors as often as we do.
- People who claim they are vegetarians because they "love animals" are ignorant and uninformed. There is animal product in nearly everything and you can't avoid it even if you wanted to (one of the reasons I never went back to being a vegetarian myself).
- Cable TV needs to be abolished. It's outdated and the magnitude of commercials is brainwashing our children.

- A person is not evil or stupid or inconsiderate for taking their puppy on a walk before he's fully vaccinated.
- Town homes are overpriced apartments and are not worth the mortgage.
- Most job positions have absolutely no right to require a degree. There should be some sort of law mandating a minimum salary for the requirement of a college degree. It must be a salary people can live off of.
- Health care should be free.
- We censor too much. Nudity is nothing to hide from children.
- The drinking age should be lowered to 18 or 19.
- Gay marriage should be legal.
- If you are in a healthy, long-term committed relationship with someone there is nothing wrong with getting married at a young age.
- There should be a minimum requirement of yard space when building new homes (10,000sq ft at LEAST). I'm tired of seeing houses build on top of each other.
- People who cannot afford to get their pets x-rayed after an injury should have their animals taken away from them and put in either a foster until the owner has enough money, or adopted out to someone else.
- Too many people are having kids when they should not be, including people in their 30s who are financially successful.
- People who are private about their lives usually have something to hide.
- The housing market needs to go down further and home prices are still outrageous, at least around here ($300,000 gets you... a run down home in need of $100,000+ repairs or a town house with no yard).
- The government does not have the right to micro manage my pets.
- Most veggies do not taste good raw.
- Global warming is not caused by humans.

Oh oh oh! People should have to re-take the driving test every few years. Too many AWFUL drivers out there.

And people who teach close-minded ideas to large groups (whether it be in churches, schools, etc.) should be removed from their position. It's fine to have an opinion...it is NOT fine to teach anger and hatred toward others who go against what one feels to be "right"

People need to be far more educated about pets before they go out and purchase one/rescue one. They're a lot of work. They aren't just some cute, fuzzy creature for you to love and hug and throw away when they become a handful.

Alcohol is something to be enjoyed, not something to be abused. If you want to get drunk on occasion, no problem! If you feel the need to get drunk on a regular basis, there may be an issue. If you enjoy a glass of wine or a drink every now and again because you truly love the way it tastes, I have no problem with that, either.

Processed foods should cost far more than they do. Natural foods (produce, nuts, blahblahblah) should cost far LESS.
