one of the problems if you have mortage insurance the banks could care less if you foreclose. They will get the house and the money back from the insurance. BOA and Chase are evil. I believe they also got bail out money from the goverment so again they could care less. all they want is you to pay and they will lead you and and ruin your credit. Most of the time your speaking to collection people at the bank and they trick you make verbal promises but have no intention of doing anything. 3 years later and Obama's foreclosure help hasnt helped enough people.

Hi there, fellow fighter. I'm the gal you're talking about and oh yeah, I know how bad the banks are about this. Every week, they ask for new paperwork, usually 18 pages of it, including stuff you sent 3 months ago. If they had reviewed it then expeditiously and didn't let it sit there for the past couple of months, they wouldn't need to ask for it again.
I was told last Dec. (after fighting for 2 years to get them to approve and had been turned down again) to re-submit it in January. I was told that prior to that, they were hit with this new program put on them by the govt. and they didn't have the paperwork, the people, the policies and procedures in place until the end of last year. Have they provided you with case manager? Have them assign one person for you to talk to who will help you work your way through. I had a gal assigned to me in January (who had almost lost her own house in 2008 and knew exactly what I was going through) who helped me every inch of the way until they approved me in June. I then had to make 3 months test payments (even though I had been paying test pmts. for months and months already) but by September, I got my "Home Affordable Modification Agreement", signed sealed and delivered. Of course, I have yet to find out what they're going to do if I tell them I can't make the modified payment. As I've stated, I'm more afraid of the bank than I am of my cancer situation. I'm hoping to find someone who's been through this with other cancer patients to help me out soon. All I can say is keep doing everything they ask, no matter how dumb it sounds. They'll play you to death in the hopes that you'll give up and throw in the towel out of sheer exhaustion. Don't let them. Keep the copy machine full of ink and lots of big envelopes available. My heart is with you. I know what you're going through.

diane;
thanks so much for your words of inspiration, as if you dont have too much on your plate already. i do have a case manager, this is the 3rd one we have, (they seem to dissapear every 2 to 3 mos) and yes they still lose my paperwork. now want to tell you a story. a good friend of mine was very upset one day and i asked why, her neighbor was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, it was in her lung, liver. kidney and somewhere else, she started chemo, radiation etc and was very sick they told her it was probably terminal. good news, that was 5 years ago and she is in remission. Please dont lose hope nomatter what that a--hole doctor said. hang in there and my thoughts and prayers are with you. lori |

BOA is absolutely EVIL
Needless to say I moved all of my mother and fathers trust out of ML after BOA took over and refused to accept my legal and formerly accepted durable POA for the IRAs (which by law cannot be in a trust)--at one point while waiting to be put on the checking account a bank officer told me to forge my mothers signature. I refused and had to carry her for months on my own money after my dad died and while I was waiting to be put on. All I can say is keep a chron log with EVERYTHING written down and I do wish you luck. I would also be notifying your elected representative because there is supposed to be some level of regulation of these banks. Get everything else to a good credit union!

Chase is one of the largest and worst, their loan mod, is a joke, i know a few people that have tried it, they have good credit and were turned down, and a few others the process goes on and on and on and on, I dont call any of them "bankers" anymore, they are now "banksters"

I feel your pain. I've been trying to get a loan modification through Wells Fargo for 2 years now, SO frustrating, I've actually yelled into the phone a couple of times. It didn't help.

My credit was super great when I ran into my mortgage payment problems .. my pension used to pay the bank monthly was annihilated in 2008 so could no longer afford them. I fought and fought and finally got one. But now, even though I make my payments within a few days of the first of the month, and even though I have a grace period until the 15th, if they haven't seen the payment by the 4th or 5th, they're on the phone asking where it is. And they're not friendly about it either.
But the good news is......I got my mod from CHASE THE EVIL! So anything is possible. My original mortgage was with my local bank who sold the portfolios to Chase several years ago. Every time I go into the bank for business, I tease the gals there that I'm never going to forgive them for selling me off. Sometimes it's not so much a tease, I really mean it. *laughing*
