Lets see...
  • Before they were famous, a lesser known original band member of Bon Jovi was my father's tenant in NJ. He lived in back of us in a three room flat..Alec Suches (guitar).
  • Chip Coffey - Psychic, medium, TV para-celeb - Knew him for years before he was on TV, was a friend for several years and hung around here and there with him and he is a neighbor as well. We're not on close terms anymore though.
  • Patrick Burns (Paraceleb) was in our group around 10 years ago.
  • Met Jean Dixon years and years ago.
  • Clint Walker ( showing my age here.
  • Richard Basehart - sister was a neighbor
  • Don King - at Newark Airport
  • Sonny Bono - Met him at his restaurant in Palm Springs, CA years ago. Got photos taken with him, hugged him and got his autograph. He was mayor at the time.
  • Met and talked with the Duchess of Derbyshire while she was walking her dogs.

Try going for a NY Rangers game, he's a pretty big hockey fan from what i've heard.

Depends what you consider a celebrity... Ive met several authors mostly at book signings and other events, like Terry Pratchett, Jhonen Vasquez, etc... I go to cons sometimes so Ive met some voice actors and such like Rob Paulson, Trisha Macneal, Rikki Simons (he does some voices for Nick cartoons) etc...
I also saw some actors from True Blood like Sam Trammel, at the convention C2E2 but I didn't really meet them, just saw them like a few ft away (they charged money to actually meet them, you had to buy an autograph..) Some other actors were there too (list) but we didn't see them.

Oh yeah I met Rin Tin Tin once! At a pet expo. It was Rin Tin Tin IV or whatever. I wanted to take a photo of him and my Golden Retriever but the handler wouldn't let me.
I also met Benji and the other dog that was in the last Benji movie, Shaggy(called Lizardtongue in the movie). When they were looking for the next Benji, Shaggy was one of the dogs they picked as a potential to be Benji and they got him from a Chicago shelter. He ended up playing another character in the movie instead. Shaggy and my Golden really hit it off...

I know a local 'celebrity' of sorts, Steve Dale, hes a pet columnist/ author and has a pet radio show.
I do pretty good on those 'six degrees of separation' things though because my brother went to high school with Chris O'donnell (well, all the Odonnells really.)

I also am probably going to meet Shorty Rossi (Pit Boss) at a pet expo next summer.

I also met Svengoolie several times. He's been one of the judges for a friend's pet store's Halloween pet costume contest the last few years:

Bianca kept trying to lick him!

oh, forgot Larry the Cable Guy. Though I think half the people in FL have met him before he "went national" He was a great guy too.
One thing I learned is, that with a few exceptions, celebrities are just regular people. Those exceptions would be the ones who think that they are better than regular people.

They've done quite a bit of filming in Pittsburgh over the past few years. I was an extra in a Keven Smith movie filmed there (Zack & Miri with Seth Rogen), my husband was an extra in another movie (She's Out of My League) later that year and a good friend of our's has been in several other movies filmed there.

Met Mike Tyson on the streets of NYC. My dh and I walked right past his bodyguards (they weren't very happy) and into the Red Door (I think) Store where he was trying to hit on this girl. We asked for his picture. He was actually nice about it.

In Newburgh, NY - toured the Orange County Choppers shopt with the producer at the time, none of the Tuttles were there, but we got to see all their machines, and had just finished Danika Patricks bike - so DH had to sit on the seat where Danika's butt was, so I got a picture of that.

Where I live, you see celebrities often because they film a few shows and movies here such as One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek back in the day, etc. I couldn't begin to count how many folks I've met, but some have included the actors in the above listed shows. I teach at a local college and they film stuff around there all the time. As a matter of fact they were filming something this past Wednesday, but I have no idea what it is. I always get a kick out of folks standing around hoping to get a glimpse of someone. I guess I'd only care if it was Jesus. :-)
