I've always been a big dog person, but the more I work with little dogs, the more I like them, and I can see myself with a small dog one day. Not anytime soon, but someday...
I really like Border Terriers, and I'm becoming interested in Japanese Chins and Chinese Cresteds. What small breeds have you all owned, and what is your favorite?

I've never owned a small breed and probably won't but if I had to, a Patterdale Terrier. I would do flyball, agility, and lure coursing with it.

I've always had a gsd and I've always had a maltese. I use to own/show mastiffs, before that great danes. During those times in addition to those my maltese (one at a time) and my gsd (back then one at a time). Now it's 5 gsd's and one maltese.
I will probably always have one, love them. Being a big dog person one teenie dog at a time is all I want but cant image not having one. When she is at the groomer the house feel empty, even with my 5 gsd's. |

I took to long too add pics. I'm going to take this opportunity to share a couple of pics of her since my gsd's are always getting their mugs on her and poor Aimee never does.
![]() This is Aimme last month on her 10th birthday: ![]() Her summer do (she dances anytime I put music on (without being prompted)) ![]() And a couple of random shots. One of the things I love about this breed is they aren't yappy like most of the toy breeds. ![]()

Bet you can't guess my favorite....
Actually, I can't stand a majority of Poms I meet. I lucked out with Ozzy. (Or maybe it's because I treat him like a dog and not an infant). My mom's friend has a Pom and she's fat, snappy, yippy, etc.

I love my JRT's...well bred JRT's are awesome.
Gizmo is just the sweetest, kindest dog (at least til he sees critters - then he goes nuts). He loves to please, loves to work. Not a mean bone in his body towards people, and very safe with other dogs as long as they don't directly challenge him. I would like to get him certified as a therapy dog because he is just so sweet with everyone. I've put all kinds of rally titles on him, he is a great rally dog. Cricket is very different in a lot of ways. She is more introverted, she really only cares about "her" people. I wouldn't call her shy, she just doesn't care. She is a great watchdog, she goes nuts at the door when someone comes. She was housebroken within a week of bringing her home (at 3 months), and at 5 months I was able to start leaving her loose in the bedroom unsupervised for short periods of time. And at starting at 6 months was able to be left alone for hours (instead of having to be crated) without chewing anything up or having accidents. Both have lots of drive - for both food and toy/tug. I have been able to meet lots of JRT's in the last couple of years at trials, breeders, etc, and many of the well bred ones are awesome. And many of the BYB ones are a mess... |

I have a pom that is my baby! He isnt anything like the typical pom though. Hes not yappy just a pisser. He listens better than any other pom i have ever seen also. I hope he gets along with my new GSD. He tends to think hes a big dog so hopefully he wont get hurt..
