Default There is definitely something wrong with me

I've been in a funk. A gf I haven't seen in awhile *really* wants to go out for a couple/few hours for an hour or two. I miss her, but am caught up worrying about if the bf will take good care of the dogs. They've all been fed, so he won't have to do much other than make sure Bails and Suri don't have any tiffs. That could be asking a little much of him.

I once had a social life. Now I have a dog life. Sigh.

It'll be nice to see her, though.

I've always had to worry about that and it's not a fun feeling. I lived with five (yes, count them, five!) college boys in Boulder for about a year, and before that had four roommates... and none of them were THAT great with dogs. The boys in Boulder loved my dogs, but I swear I was so nervous leaving them for a few hours. I'd seriously hang a sign on the front door asking people NOT to let my dog out front... which you'd think would be common knowledge, LOL!

I just moved to Arizona a few weeks ago and am temporarily staying with my dad, and it's been hard for me to just let go and trust him to watch my dogs for a few hours while I run errands (obviously in Arizona the pups can't just hang out in the car during errands like they could in Colorado). Every time I do it, it gets a little easier, but if ANYTHING happens to them while I'm gone, it'll be back to step one of paranoid dog parent.

Have fun tonight! I'm sure the BF will do just fine.

wow, it's a shame you can't trust the bf with
the dogs. do something with your friend that
involves the dogs. invite your friend to your house.

Sometimes its not even really trusting them, it's just letting go! I like to know that I am responsible for what happens with my dogs. I don't want anybody else to have to worry about it, and I really would feel awful if I got upset with somebody for something happening that could have been prevented.. so I just do it myself.

I know that most people have the common sense to watch a dog, but they're MY babies, not theirs :P Not sure if Chelle has this problem with her BF (maybe he is just totally awful at watching dogs, LOL I dont know!) but it could be the same issue... she feels better when SHE is watching them.

I think it's the weather. I've been in a funk to but we had a really nice, oddly nice for January, day yesterday and I feel so much better today.

Yes, I know that's part of it, mild weather or not.

The night went fine and the dogs didn't self-destruct under the bf's care. Actually, I do need to get out more often....however... what she failed to tell me is *where* we were going... harumph... there were some males involved and they were not, um, fully clothed,,, a cowboy and policeman, specifically.

We didn't stay long.
