Default Feliway for cats

Has anyone tried the plugin Comfort Zone with Feliway? My cat is driving us absolutely insane, he cries for hours straight (no nothing is wrong with him, he just wants to go outside), and I'm talking bellowing meows. My other cat hates him and hisses and growls when he comes near her. I'm hoping these pheromones will help them both.

They are pretty expensive, so I was thinking of plugging in a timer so it only comes on every so often.

Do you think it's worth a try?

We use it on upset cats in our clinic, and I never see it working. I have heard from several clients that the plug-in works at home for them. I would give it a try!

I know a few people that rescue that use them and love them.

They also has collars that you can buy. I personally tried those and can't sing their praises enough.

I use them in my cat room, and send one home to all my adopters. I love them. Anytime I bring a new feral into the cat room I make sure I have a plug-in, it makes a huge difference.

Every once in awhile when my boys tend to become pushy with my Mama Cat, she becomes stressed, then I get a plug-in and the boys settles right down, and she relaxes again.

I swear by them. By the way, Petsmarts FB page has a $10.00 off coupon if you buy 2 refills right now .

I have four cats indoors and we have the plug-in. I can't really tell if it's making a difference or not; the kitten continues to have a blast tormenting the older cats, and the older cats continue to get ticked off. I was thinking of putting one of those collars on the cat that is most easily upset.

Thank you everyone! I really hope this helps! I was thinking of putting it in the hallway where he passes through from the living room to everywhere else he goes (to cry at our door, the litter box closet, the other bedrooms).
Do you think that would be an okay place to put it?

Or maybe I should try the collar instead?

You need to have it where he spends the majority of his time. You can also use the spray, and spray his bed or where ever he sleeps the most. I have no experience with the collars so can't give any input on those.

Maybe the living room would be best then. Though at night, he spends his time wandering around the house bellowing.

Is he neutered? Perhaps there is a female in heat outside somewhere? Even if neutered some males can still be *bothered* by a female in heat. This could be why the bellowing and wanting outside.

I think the living room is best if you are going with the plug-in, if he is in there during the day.

Yep, he was neutered at the shelter when we adopted him (he was brought in as a feral stray). He was supposedly 8 weeks old, but our vet said he was more like 5-6 weeks old. He had an upper respiratory infection and became very sick and slept all day. But he's been a terror ever since he got better- he's two now. We used to let him outside so he'd stop crying (supervised when he was a kitten), but as he got older he started leaving our yard and wanted to be outside 24/7. So he's been inside now 24/7 for almost three months and he's driving us crazy!
