I am frazzled
I work at home-telecommute 9 or so hours a day, I also help care for my disabled mother and am on a SAR team. Cyra had a tumor removed from her leg and because of the size they did not have enough skin for a good close and we are maintaining bandagine (and a basket muzzle) while the granulation tissue slowly fills in. She is not a particularly willing patient. Grim had an infection on his toes that is slowly getting better with - light bandage (a sock) and twice daily 10 minute betadine soaks - he also has a muzzle (basket type)-he is a charmer - I just wish he would leave it alone so I could take the muzzle off but no-if I remove the sock he licks it and if I remove the muzzle he removes the sock. Beau just came in from playing ball coated in mud and with his foot bleeding. Ok coated in mud-I had given up with all the rain we have and was going to deal with this weekend but the blood-well into the tub HE went-seems ok but I wanted to get all the dirt off---Now at 6 months (and of course he was not wearing his collar) that was fun. I decided to feed him while showering and he was pretty good until the food was gone and even after but then drying him - OMG - as far as he was concerned I was drying him with a tug toy. So now I am watching HIM. He is also going into the "Oh I can PULL on the leash can't I phase" - so I am searching for those extra prong links as his neck is bigger than my adult female....have not used a prong for so long not sure where they are.

I am not sure there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
![]() I am having major financial problems, I cant make it on my own and I want to go back to my mom's house (I have been out on my own for 5 years) but she wont let me come back because I have too many animals. So instead her and my father take turns giving me money and I hate it. I am lonely and I am the odd man out amongst my friends, they all have boyfriends and are happy and enjoying themselves and when we get together I am always alone. Malice drives me insane, between her energy level and her personality, we constantly butt heads, she's a big brat right now and I cant wait for her to grow up and chill out a bit. Sorry I am a Debbie Downer, let me know when things start looking up for you.

I always know whenever there is something like this "it could be worse" and there are plenty who have it worse........I guess this is just "I need a break" and know I won't get one for months.

![]() You have a home, wonderful pets that keep you company, loving parents that are willing and able to help you out. What exactly are you complaining about??? ![]() STOP looking at the negative and start looking at the GOOD things/blessings you have!! Last edited by GSDBESTK9; 01-25-2012 at 10:30 AM. |

Everyone has these times - we all have times of extreme happiness too! Just don't forget the happiness will be coming
![]() I just (well, it was almost 2 years ago now but it takes a long time to recover!) went through a very dark time myself. I went through a break up with my fiance, found myself homeless, with three large male dogs, one that was extremely aggressive, a part-time job and a car payment I couldn't cover on my own on my part-time salary. Then I found out how much credit card debt I had thanks to ex-fiance. I had to move in with my parents, commuting an hour to work and barely able to cover my monthly bills. I ended up placing two of my dogs and selling the third for a personal protection dog (best thing for him but still wicked hard). It was a horrible, hard and heartbreaking time in my life. These days, couldn't be happier - have a great guy, two amazing dogs, I see my other dogs regularly on the internet and one I see all the time in person (I am dogsitting for him this whole week in fact), full-time job, making my bills on time. Even when things are looking rotten, tell yourself you are strong enough to get through. Then just do it. I found myself laughing every time some new terrible thing would happen, as in, "are you serious!?" but then I just trucked on. You have to decide every day to be happy, every day to take things in a positive light. I know this because I was always the most extreme pessimist but my life just always looked so hard and dark. You have to repeat the positive stuff over and over and eventually it becomes who you are. I know, I've done it. Hugs to you both

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. The trick is to keep your head up so you can see the light, and not keep looking at your feet as you shuffle along.

Wow, Nancy, your dogs are giving you fits with their injuries/issues. I remember seeing Grims foot and it looked horrid! Good to read he's getting better.
My parents are aging, and I know that this time in my life is the easiest it will ever be...I fear the days that I have to step up to take care of them. Laren, is there anyway you can find a roomie to help pay your mortgage/utilities? Many people can't get by alone anymore financially. My neighbor across the street bought her house a year ago with her fiance, and they broke up. She now has two other girls sharing her home so she can make the payments. I hope things get easier for both of you! |

Jocoyn, some days I wake up and think to myself "What the **** did I do, getting this puppy just when DH and I could have some time to ourselves without any major kid crisis' or health crisis'"...and then the next day comes and he's a dream puppy. I just ride it out and remember what my mom always says to me (which is a Robert Frost quote, I think):
The only way out of it is through it. Hang in there. ![]() You can also count on the fact that the only thing constant is change, so things MUST change, usually for the better when they're like this. |
