TWO DIFFERENT DOCTORS' OFFICES ....
Boy, if this doesn't hit the nail on the head, I don't know what does!

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever.
The SECOND is a Manitoba or Saskatchewan resident.

Next time take me to a vet!

Veterinarians Behaving Badly This is funny, inside eye on why we complain, and why they make us complain! A good bookmark to read every few days.

I've actually never experienced these long wait times before . When I thought I broke my toe, I went to minor emergency and since I was a walk in it took about an hour. Immediately after my appointment I got my x-ray, and I got the results the next day.

And when I had my kidney infection and was admitted to the ER, I only had to wait about 5 minutes.

Although whenever I call the vet to make an appointment, I'm always completely surprised when I ask when the next available appointment is and they are like, "How about right now?". My brain kind of stops functioning for a bit whenever that happens .

That OP is actually a generic story, where people put their location in before sending on. There is actually a video of this that they show to human hospitals to help them to understand the importance of customer service.

Anybody who would walk into their Dr.'s office no matter how long it took to get the appt. and schedule a hip repacement based on one x-ray is an idiot.

They need a psychiatrist appt. no matter what country they live in.

I'm not sure I get it. What is it about?

I may just be really tired today, though.

I love my vet. We brought in the folder that the breeder gave us with articles and her vaccination policies. The vet said they already had those policies as a standard. My vet works with me to ensure I'm doing the best thing for Viking. She has never pushed a vaccine on me and when she suggested Lepto she refused to let me make the decision without thinking it through first and told me to research it. We spilled our bottle of albon and she let us pick up another bottle today--for free. All the vet bashing that goes around confuses me. There are bad vets, I've met them and they don't do any good for the practice, but many people act as if every vet is an ignorant buffoon. It makes me feel bad about trusting her.

Whoa people. This is just supposed to be a joke to lighten the mood since it's been the weekend from heck here. Come giggle with me and ignore the real world garbage for a while. (If long wait times were my biggest problem I'd be set.)
