Default sad cat story

so we had taken in my boyfriends moms 11 year old declawed cat who she abandond at her old house when she moved. I diddnt want another anyomal but i can just leave the cat and his mom knows how i am with animals and knew i would come get her. Well she was old and a scardy cat and she somhow got out of the dog door and has been loose for 3 weeks. ive been leaving food outside just hoping she was getting it. she never would answer to her name being called. well the other night i was leaving the house about to go to dinner and i heard a cat crying. and i thought it was my tabby tazz but i looked over my neighbors yard and there was Gizzy! she was crying for help and she was so thin! my neighbors are not friendly so i diddnt ask them for help i just jumped into their yard and pulled gizzy our of under their AC unit and when i touched her she screamed and her back legs werent working. I think she had had a stroke (which has happened to me before with cats) so i started crying hysterically and got her into her kennel. my boyfirend drove me to the 24 hour vet where they told me she was to far gone and there is nothing we could do besides spending thousands of dollars that i dont have. So we put her down. I feel so horrible that she got out, but shes in a better place now. It was sad to see my BF who never really cared for cats but that was his last child hood pet and it hit him pretty hard. i just hate this feeling.

I'm sorryI'm so glad you found her though, and took her to the vet. You were her guardian angel and you let her be released from her pain. You did your best and that's all you need to know. Shame on the mom for leaving that poor cat like that

wow that seriously bites the big one. I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that. I think i'd have words with the BFs mom. Thats cruel. At least you tried though and she wasnt left to suffer. You let her go peacefully. I'm sure she's grateful for it.
