Default Zappos Hacked

So seriously I get this email saying my account from 6pm.com has been hacked. Huh? WTH is that?! I looked, reset my password, deleted my saved credit card that expired in 2009 and I'm not even sure that I still have that specific card number. I was laughing...won't get much from me and not even sure what I had ordered from there 3 years ago...but I hope the ppl that had current information on there don't get a big bill from India!

I got the same email but don't remember ever having ordered anything there! I know I don't have a credit card on file.

Just shows that there are no real safe sites online.

You should go directly to the site and check anyways. I think I ordered my Salomon boots from there years ago and didn't remember saving a credit card so you might still have one.

I almost deleted the email as a scam! LOL But I went directly to the site (not thru the link in the email) and changed my password, deleted my CC and my address.

This is great advice. I don't know what Zappos is but if you ever get *any* e-mails that are supposedly account notices, NEVER use the link in the e-mail, always go directly to the site and login to check/change your account info.

Stepping off my IT security pedestal now, lol....

6pm is owned by Zappos, they're like the clearance center - GREAT deals, but limited colors and sizes. I always check to see if 6pm has what I'm looking for because their price usually beats everyone else. I love Zappos (love, love, LOVE! ). They don't have a lot of sales so most of the time you're paying retail, but their selection is incredible. I get free overnight shipping as a VIP member, and the return freight is free as well, so if nobody else has a better price, I'll get it there. I'm big on instant gratification!

One time I got an email saying my order had shipped and would be there the following day - this was a Monday and I was supposed to get it on Tuesday. Except that my package was already waiting for me when I'd gotten home from work on Monday, so by the time they told me it shipped I had already received it! Even UPS was telling me I would receive it on Tuesday. I placed the order either late Friday or over the weekend, so it was shipped via UPS on Saturday.

I've placed orders many times in the evening after I got home from work, they shipped out the same day, and I received the package less than 24 hours after I ordered it.
