My wedding was the best and the worse day of my life!

Best because I married the greatest lady I have ever known and as a bonus she is my best friend!

Worse because from the time I arrived at the church to the time I left the reception I cried like a baby. No one ever seen me cry except for that day! I am a 6'2" 220lbs man and always act strong(tough guy attitude) but that day got the best of me!

Congratulations!!!! My only advice is to maybe have a little glass of wine to ease your nerves on the big day!!!

I know that we need to really go out to stores and look at things, etc.

But we've been living together for years - we HAVE most of what we need. We really aren't the type to by cheap things to fill the gap. Some things, sure. Those are already on the list. The problem? They're the EXPENSIVE things that I can't expect people to buy for us.

I'd prefer to have everyone just get us gift cards to IKEA or something so that we can re-model our kitchen. That would make me incredibly happy! But...people like to buy gifts. Things for us to unwrap. So...yeah. It's the strangest thing to have difficulty with. What about the rest of you??
I know! We have a wedding website, and I'm so tempted to just list the things we kind of want/need vaguely on the site. I don't know crap about pots and pans, I just know I want good ones. I don't know crap about baking dishes or how to use them either. We don't have any because we forget that we don't have any until we start baking and we've always been able to make due with alternatives.

Honestly the most helpful wedding gift for us would probably be money for the honeymoon. We want to go to Europe.

We got our pots and pans from Costco - the Kirkland brand. They may not be top notch, but they're good quality, and have been fantastic! Just a tip.

There are a few baking things I need, things like cast iron pans...but honestly, just not that much. Remodeling the kitchen IS what we need - there's no counter space or food storage area. We're using an old TV armoire as our pantry. It drives me nuts. It would also help us when it comes time to sell the house - the kitchen was the one thing that made me cringe when we were looking to buy.

A European honeymoon sounds amazing! We're going down to Florida, most likely - a family friend has a nice rental home down there and offered to let us have it for a week. It sounds perfect. We can to a big trip later on.

Florida sounds nice!

I love things like museums, food, history, and adventuring. Sitting on the beach would just never do it for me. We want to go to Germany to try some of the beers over there (fiance has a thing for foreign beer) and visit some of the museums in Berlin. I also want to hit Paris for the art. We're unsure of whether we want to pick Amsterdam or Ireland for our 3rd country. Pat's very irish and it would be amazing to go, but it's just not the right time of year to visit Ireland. I want our honey moon to be a learning experience, not just a week of relaxing.

We haven't even thought about doing wedding registry stuff. eeeek.

My fiance is definitely going to be crying during the ceremony. I'm worried people are going to be thinking he's crying because he's sad and doesn't want to marry me haha.

I ordered my garters off of etsy. They go with our color theme and look like this!:

Keepsake:

Throwaway:

We will probably do a bouquet toss, but I'm not sure what to do with the garter toss. My fiance doesn't want to do the traditional garter toss because it's embarrassing(I agree). I think we might have a super smash brothers tournament and winner gets the garter . Except I'm really good at that game so I want to play too! I thought about being the 'final boss', but if I win then no one gets my garter .

Those are beautiful!

I have no idea what I'm going to do. I might just do candle holders because everybody loves candles.

Please post photos of your wedding!! I would love a wedding like that. My boyfriend doesn't have any tattoos(and can't get any for a while since he is waiting on a kidney transplant) but I have many tattoos, including my chest and back, and should have both arms done by the time I get married.

Okay, more bridesmaid dress issues(maid of honor didn't like the black dress my bridesmaid tried on). But now I have their sizes so I think I'm just going to order this dress in black:

It has a corset back, so getting a perfect fit shouldn't be an issue. The top actually looks a lot like my wedding dress, and my wedding dress also has a corset back . I think this dress looks classier than the other one.

My maid of honor really wants straps, but my bridesmaid really wants strapless. Would it look weird if one had straps and the other had strapless?

I like that dress! I also think that you'd be fine if some of them had straps, and others didn't. That's my opinion, anyway.

I just let out a huge sigh of relief. Sam's cousin is our photographer - she does it as her profession, and she is AMAZING. I was getting worried - we talked to her about what we wanted, etc, determined the price, but never got around to her sending the contract. She was pregnant, and had her baby a month early. Naturally, life has been hectic for her. It's not that I was worried she'd back out or anything like that...but not having the contract was REALLY stressing me out.

She finally got back to me and has the contract all set, she just needed our mailing address again. Cue another sigh of relief.

I will feel so much better once it's set in stone and goes from a family discussion to a business transaction/contract.

If you're curious, her work can be seen here - I'm even in a picture or two from Sam's sister's wedding.
