I am currently enrolled at a vocational college to become a medical coder and learned that in order to become one, one must be certified. I am a bit intimidated with that, but more importantly, I was under the impression when I "graduated" from the school, I would be able to find a job right afterwards. Now it seems that I need to branch out a bit more with my classes so I can get my foot in the door in a medical office which means more time in school. I want and need a full time job even while working towards the certification. I hear the tests are very difficult.
Does anybody here work in a medical office and would be willing to give tips on what I actually need to know to get a full time job?
