i think it also has to do with other kids and what they have done. these kids see other kids committing violence and then their parents don't tell them it isnt' acceptable. i live in the town where this happened. its the same town that a year ago, a bunch of older teens 18-20 some i went to high school with (though they never completed) beat, shot repeatedly, broke a 15-16 year old kid's knee caps, shot him again, then burned him. 2 girls loured (sp) him to the awaiting kids. all over one of the girls who is 15. there has been an increased in crime in our "small town community". we rarely ever had break ins, shootings, etc. now daily i see, covience store robbed or home invasion, or "man knocks on door and shoots home owner multiple times before running off." ---- that one happened this past week.
kids are seeing others do it and want to do it to. so when one poor new girl wants to sit on a bus, they alineate her, throw a shoe at her, and when she throws it back to stick up for herself, they gang up on her. all because "its cool" and will make an "awesome" youtube video. im only 20, and still in college and not quite sure if i want kids or not, but if i do.. i pry wont be raising them here. |

This happened here in Ocala and has been highlighted on local news. IMHO the bus driver was negligent when he didn't interven when the students wouldn't let her sit down, again when the shoe incident happened, and the police should have definitely been called after the first fight. Don't know why he drove on to a school before calling the police after/during the second fight. I hope all students involved are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Just to update the 5 girls got charged with 1 count of battery and 1 count of misconduct one of the boys got 1 count assume and 1 count misconduct. And the other boy got 1 count misconduct. None of the children will do time as of yet and are "recommended" for expulsion. The articles and the video of that day on the bus and the fight can e seen on Ocala.com

So a little kid can call a teacher "mighty fine" in a way we are sure he has heard before and be chaged with sexual misconduct (this happened here to a 7 year old) and a kid can be expelled for a plastic butter knife.....
But beating someone senseless is not a big deal?

WESH TV 2 Orlando is reporting that the girl is now suffering from seizures.
The driver RESIGNED the next day after the beating ... I still feel he should have been fired, especially after seeing the video! So far I'm not impressed with the way Marion county is handling this!
