Default I'm looking at you with my special eyes!

Well folks, at the age of 29, I have decided to wear contacts. No more glasses for this gal, even tho - I kinda miss them lol. They were an accessory. Today is day 1 and so far so good. A little itchy but it's going ok so far. Who's got tips for me?

Important Tip #1. Never put your contacts in over the sink with the water running.

I can see how that would be bad lol. Are you speaking from experience?

i have been wearing contacts since the 8th grade. my first pair were hard lenses which were absolutely AWFUL, but shortly after i switched to soft. my advice to you would be to make sure you change the solution every night when u take them out. when you take them out in the morning, rinse them with the solution. seems simple, but it helps you get more wear out of them. also, try not to sleep in them. and even though mine are only supposed to last for 2 weeks, i always wear them for a month...you will know when it's time for a new pair.

I admit to nothing!!!

Important Tip #2. No matter how hard you try, you will NOT have a bottle of contact solution handy when you really NEED it!!!

1) Be really careful with anything that irritates your eyes and might get in them when you have contacts in - they trap it against your eye and it can be really painful.

Think lemon juice, vinegar, toothpaste (oh my God, does that hurt ...).

2) Remember to take them out before opening your eyes underwater. They'll float away ...

Seems like no-brainers, yes? I have personal experience w/ both of above.

Ditto, that one! And I was on a two week camping trip, had to wear my old dork glasses (back then my glasses were baaaad!) the rest of the time.

ALL good advice. I've had them in for 5 hours and they actually feel pretty good. I guess I should take them out for now. Don't wanna push it lol
