Default Free Video Editing?

I wanted to put a little fun video together that i took of Medo doing some OB work today....the times between when I start, when I'm out of the viewfinder, or when I go stop it are sooooo long I want to chop those out. Is there any good free software out there that is super user friendly I can use to make those kewl videos I see you guys making all the time???

What operating system do you have? I use a Windows 7 computer, which has the Windows Live movie maker on it. I hate using that for editing videos. It sucks. I like using Windows Movie Maker 2.6. There's a free download if you use Windows. The only thing I don't like about it is that I have to convert all of my .mov files to .avi. I use ZoomBrowser (an editor that came with my camera) to convert the files.

Ditto ^ I use Quicktime to export video to avi and then Windows Movie Maker 2.6 for editing.

I believe if you upload to youtube that you can edit with youtubes online software. Not sure about the capabilities. MovieMaker and iMovie are free for Win/Mac if I remember correctly.

Here's an example of short vid some stills + some live I did on iMovie for mac.

Well, I just went with the top rated one on cnet. I have no idea how it compares to others and I don't have the time to check it out too much tonight....I guess it's OK for my first attempt lol
