Question Do you wear your seatbelt?

Melina's post made me think... Do you wear your seatbelt at all times? If not, why not?

To me, it is like second nature, as soon as I sit in the car I put it on, otherwise I feel so unconfortable, like something is missing.

I hear about so many people getting seriously hurt or even die because they weren't wearing their seatbelt and makes me wonder why they don't, what is their reasoning?

And do you wear it if you are a passanger in the backseat?

I do. They make sense.

Some people just don't like the seatbelt. My aunt got a whiplash from one once. I believe after that she quit using them.

Related--in some areas it's the law to wear a helmet when riding a bike. I haven't worn a bike helmet in years, mostly because I can't find any that fit me anymore. Even when I had one sometimes I'd just plain forget to wear it. They make sense and they prevent injury. I don't like them, they're not comfortable. But if I ever do find one that will work for me, I'll use it.

Yes I always wear mine, there's a BIG fine in Texas if you're not wearing it. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it in the winter when I'm wearing my thick coat. It's pretty funny trying to get out of the car while it's still on.

I always wear mine, and if anyone is riding with me, so do they. I will NOT move the car unless everyone has their seatbelt on. It takes less than 2 seconds, and heaven forbid you get in an accident, they can save your life.
Plus if I don't wear one, I feel like I'm going to fall out of my seat.

Yes I do. The only time I don't is when we are on a road trip and I need to sleep on a bench seat. Ideally I can sleep on a captain's seat though and just lean back with it on. No kids in the front seat either.

Yes, i always wear one. I was in the military and was a passenger of a truck returning to the base from a training exercise when we had a tire blow out. We were on the highway at the time; the driver lost control and we went across a highway and slowed down just before hitting a tree head first. I insist all passengers buckle up. Our small shiba inu is buckled in and I'm about to order a seat belt system for our GSD.

My mother has a scar from a crash (before seatbelts were required/common) where her face smashed into the dashboard. It's not very noticeable, but it's still there. My seatbelt always goes on before my car starts moving; passengers must belt in or I don't move.

Yes, I wear one all the time. I grew up when seatbelts weren't required, and let me tell you it took me a LONG time to get into the habit. But now, I feel so nervous and not secure unless it is on. I had to drive around the block the other day to visit my neighbor, and it is seriously right around the block...and I put it on even for that! No person OR dog is EVER allowed to drive with me without a seatbelt!

Yep, I wear it even if I'm going 1/4 a mile away.
