My sister is getting me a smartphone for Xmas but I have to pick one out. I am having a terrible time deciding what type of phone to get and would like to hear what other people think.
I have two phones I have been closely looking at but I can't decide... I looked at some other phones too but they had other things I didn't like so I narrowed it down to two. I made a list of pros and cons: Iphone 4s Pros: -more apps -more compact phone -icloud memory Cons: -No expandable memory, 16gb firm (for my price range) -Must use itunes for music (I've never used it, I have a PC and use WMP) Droid Razr Pros: -Expandable memory (comes with 16gb internal and a 16gb Micro HD card, can accept 32gb cards) -Large screen for games/movies -4G Cons: -Very large size, a little unwieldy -Might not be able to transfer contacts directly (because I'd have to buy it from Amazon to get a price in my range) |

I just got the IPhone 4s and I love it!
I've been an IPhone fan forever and have had several models.

I really don't think these days you're going to find many apps that are on the iphone and not android platform.
Honestly, just go with whatever feels best. My husband has an iphone and I have an android. really, I can't tell the difference! They all do the same thing. I do think his iphone camera is a little nicer, but that totally varies with each individual model and my 'droid is older than his iphone. I personally like the bigger droids for internet surfing.........

I have a Droid X. I like it, but my wife just the iPhone 4s and loves it. The camera loads up much faster - Droid takes about 5 secs just to open. The Droid also doesn't seem to be as stable as the iPhone - mine likes to reboot on its own every now and then. I like the larger screen of the Droid, but my wife hasn't complained about her phone yet so I guess you'll get used to it. If you've never had a Droid, then you wouldn't even notice. Good luck with your decision.

I think you would be happy with either. DH has an android and I just recently upgraded from a BB to a new iPhone.
I actually like both his and mine pretty much equally, though I went with the 32 gb. If memory is a big concern for you, then you may be better off with the Android, although 16 is reasonable too, depending on what your primary uses will be. Good luck with your decision and keep us posted

I've had both, currently have the iPhone 4s.
Differences for me: Droid is much more customizable, but with that comes the virus and lock ups. Yes, they can get viruses just like computers, and DO. The Droid is very easy to learn to use--just hold anything down and you get a menu. Or use the menu button. My husband loves his new Rezound, and constantly tells me how the "reviews" say it's better than the iPhone, but I always beat him when we try to bring up stuff on the internet, make a call, take a pic. In fact, he slipped up and said when the iPhone 5 finally arrives someday, he'll probably try it. ![]() iPhone--so so so so so so so so smooth. NEVER locks up. Never has an issue. ALWAYS works. You have to "learn" the system, but my husband has a new Droid Rezound, and I've played around with it, and I must say, I'll never go back to a Droid, now. It's just not as smooth. Once you learn the iPhone way, it's hard to go back to Droid. Plus, since it's not open source technology, you don't get the lockups, the freezing, the virus issues. My other Droid got so bad you couldn't even make a phone call unless you wanted to wait over 60 seconds for it to start to go through. Seriously. Imagine needing to make just a regular call, let alone an emergency. I HATED it at the end. I've heard many people say "I wish I had my iPhone back", but I've never heard anyone say "I wish I had my Droid back". |

I have a droid, the Samsung Infuse, and I love it. My sister just got the new iPhone 4S, but after messing around with her phone I still like mine better. BUT, it does lock up every once in a great while.
