Buddy went to the vet today, had his splint taken off and his leg rexrayed. He doesn't have to have another put on! The bone is healing nicely, has formed a bridge and looks wonderful.
However, we are not out of the woods yet. His leg is very week and we have to build his muscle back up. (she called this something that I cannot remember). The bone is also brittle and until his leg gets stronger it could easily rebreak. SO, he is confined again to his crate. But he seems to not mind so much this time as he doesn't have the splint on him. He's snoozing beside me in his crate at the moment. We are to let him out to go the bathroom, after about three weeks she said to start increasing the time out and by six weeks he should be completely healed. He seems to be VERY happy that contraption is off his leg.

That is such good news. Your title scared me. I thought Buddy took his own splint off. LOL!
Is Buddy leashed, when out of the crate? Is he not allowed any exercise yet? Hoping your boy continues to heal well. You must be so relieved. |

For the next three weeks she wants him out only to go to the bathroom. No running, jumping or getting to excited. He is a jack russell/rat terrier/schnauzer mix...I got my work cut out for me! ha.
After three weeks she says to start increasing the time I take him out a little bit every day and by six weeks he should be all better. I don't *have* to take him back in, but I am thinking of taking him anyways and just have her look at it. And sorry, wasn't trying to scare anyone, lol.

These pics aren't to to old, he looks the same. I didn't get him any with his splint on though, I lost the charger to the camera ha. Still gotta find it.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() as you can see, he is our snuggle Buddy. He likes to sit in my lap at the computer. (I was sitting at the computer when I took this one of him in my lap)

Thanks! He has been very good today too. Sleeping in his crate peacefully actually. Hes not big on his crate, usually only in it if we are gone so he always wants out. But today he is been good. I doubt it'll stay that way though haha. My poor thing.

LOVE BUDDY'S FACE ... he's darling. Glad to hear his leg is healing but it sounds like you'll have a busy three to six weeks ahead of you. I hate it when one of the Hooligans is under house arrest, especially when they're feeling better and want to go out and run and play.
