'Twas the night before Christmas -- 'Tisn't now.
And all through this house -- Mom and Dad's
Creatures are stirring, -- snoring, listening to Christmas specials.
Even the dog -- Cujo that is, whining in the hallway, where he must stay, until he dries out.

And Momma in her Kercheif (or rather, coat sweater),
And Dad without teeth,
Have just settled their brains
For their long winter's sleep.

When out on the lawn...
When out on the lawn...
When out on the lawn...

Nothing, no clatter

I await at the window to throw open the sash
I was a bit tired to fly like a flash
The moon is abreast somewhere (not here)
And the new fallen snow has already gone...
So, no luster of midday to objects below

It's going to be a long, long, loooong wait.

A Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
