Default Ankle Tattoo

Finally got the plate taken out of my ankle and when it heals, I'll have a 4" scar from my ankle bone up. I want to get a tattoo to cover it up.

Needs to be simple, not to girly, not all black, something fairly unique and something that will go straight up my leg so the scar will be incorporated and covered

So artistic people!!! HELP!!!!

you KNOW what I'd suggest!
A spin on this cool design would be my choice:

Will scars take ink as easily as 'plain' skin? Glad you got the hardware out, hope the healing goes smoothly.

I know Jane! It's at the top of my list! I read that you might have to have it done more than once but scars will take ink. I think if there are colors worked into the dog, then it would blend better. The scar might even give it texture. LOL

Speaking from someone who has tattoos, it should def mean something to you. Something that you will enjoy for years to come. I have a butterfly on my ankle

Yes, I'm aware it should mean something to you. I have a tattoo already. Just looking for ideas. What I personally incorporate into it will make it mine.

I thought about getting wings on my ankles (decided against it, getting both ribs done next year).

If you like tribal wolf/GSD WildSpiritWolf on deviantART does tattoo commissions.

These two are nice:

be aware, tattoos on scars look weird. It's like getting them on stretch marks. Also, it hurts about a billion times worse than usual xP

Are you sure that a tattoo over a scar will look normal? The skin is so weird over scars (it seems like especially somewehre as boney and inconsistent as an ankle) I feel like it might not turn out as nice as normal? Like make the scare more pronounced?

My mom got a dragonfly over her hysterectomy scar. She said the most painful part of the tattoo was when it went over the actual scar, so that's something to think about. Also, you can tell where the scar is pretty easily - there's little dents in the skin (for lack of better terms) where you can see where the scar starts and stops.
