Exclamation OMG! Too close for comfort!

One of the Dental assistants that work with me, showed this picture to all of us at work (including my boss, who enjoys big game hunting)....
It was originally taken in October, during a "hunting trip" her nephew's friend was on.
They set up night time cameras around their tent/camp site...and *this* is what they caught on film.
This *hunting trip* was not somewhere remote of even far North......it was here in the State...around Sterling, Illinois.

This is pretty amazing......and yet scary.

We have those come through our property very rarely. Every year my kids' bus is late because there was a cat sighting. Even so, all I've ever seen is tracks. I'd really love to see one.

Far away, of course.

I didn't think that they were even in this region??
That sure looks like a Cougar to me!....Sterling is not far from me!
I want to know...."Where did it come from?"

I know that we (this area) have had a couple of Wolf sightings and pictures....OK....I can handle that......but a Cougar?

Wow! Illinois is my next door neighbor, please keep them there! (We've had some sightings here in Iowa as well.)

Just carry a big squirt bottle with you and you'll be fine.
