I've been thinking over the last few days how busy this year has been, how the time has flown, and how much change has happened in my own life. I thought it might be nice to share our experiences and opinions as consider the approaching year. And perhaps list our expectations for 2012.
Good: Moved into a new house Adopted my ferret Toki Picked the college course I want to David's father adopted a new dog and seems to be healing after the pain of losing Joey My relationship has gotten stronger and better Bad: Money struggles since David lost his job Made some friends but they turned out to be pretty mean people Put on a lot of weight Lost 4 ratties and Joey (RIP) Had some mental health issues Hopes for 2012: Start my college course (woohoo!) Make some new friends Loose the weight (Thats a big one) Get out of the house and focus on the good things in life Get back into painting and writing So what are yours???? |

Good:
Moved back home from texas. Got back with my high school sweetheart. Got Sheldon. Asthma is under control. (mostly) Migraines are less frequent. (hallelujah!) Bad: Medically retired from the Air Force. Funds are loooowwwwwwwww ='[ Don't know what to go to school for Best friend decided drugs were the way to deal with her problems, thus burning bridges when I moved out... Goals: FIND OUT WHAT TO GO TO SCHOOL FOR!!!!!!!!! Get a Job! (hopefully TSA will pick me up...crossing fingers!) Get Sheldon into herding or agility, depending on his abilities. Lose a couple lbs that have sorta snuck on =/ ..That's all I can think of. Good luck with all of your goals =] |

Hmmm.. well, this year has seen a LOT of bad for myself and my family... but it has also seen some good. In the end, I think it's been a very..... educational year. Lots of lessons learned... some the easy way, and some in a very harsh way. But, they've been learned and will be remembered!
Good: -With the love of my life, shared a great year together (good, bad, & the ugly) -SO is healthy, his career is flying forward, he landed an amazing job with a great company.... and already got a huge promotion as lead artist! -Zira jumped into our lives -Zira's health is much better (for the most part) -Found this board... learned a lot more about my dog and her breed. (and at times, help me find my sanity again!) ![]() -Met some great people -Still have a job -Car is running decent -My brother is still doing well, and staying safe out there in Iraq, should be home soon!!! -Found some new hobbies I enjoy. Bad: -Zira's medical bills hurt, still trying to figure her out. -Was turned against by those that I loved like family.... they proved to me that I trust and see the good in people way too easily. -My brother has been in Iraq, miss him dearly. (He's an MP Weapons Specialist for the Army) -Almost lost the love of my life -Fell behind in some of the hobbies I loved so much. -Had to stop riding until Zira's issues were figured out. (it's killing me not to ride) -Have been dealing with some health issues. -Right after I got in awesome shape... stress made me put on a few lbs. and the hardest and most painful thing of the whole year (and possibly my whole life): -On Feb. 5th, 2011, I had to put my best friend to sleep after almost 14 years of having her at my side. The hardest loss I've ever been through.... I am still hurting. However, I am thankful to have been able to give her a peaceful rest.... hold her and tell her what a darn good dog she was and how much she was loved. Peaches had 8 people she loved dearly around her as she passed away in my lap... I've never seen a dog touch so many people as deep as Peaches did through her years. Not a day goes by that I don't think about that dog. She was and still is my guardian angel. Hopes for 2012: -Finish degree in college so I can finally do what I love! -Get Zira into Agility and OB and perfectly healthy. -Keep my relationship with my SO strong and healthy! -Lose some of the weight stress has put on me. -Get a new car (or at least starting the process by the end of next year) -Get back to my passion... horses & riding -Spend lots of time with family -Spend more time looking at the positive then letting the negative get me down. -Stress less. Lots of News Years Resolutions..... I am forcing myself to stick to them this time! It's time for some change around here! Ready to wrap this year up and start a new one! Looking forward to 2012! (Zira will be a year old in the beginning of 2012! 01/09/12)

Good:
- bought our first house! - had a great vacation in the mountains with DH's family - earned the SchH1 with Nikon (as well as his U-CH, U-CA, UNJ, and TT) - got a raise and new job duties at work - good friend got re-married and seems so much happier now Bad: - TMJ got worse this year and I need some pretty major work done on my jaw, not looking forward to paying for that! - had a few minor emergencies like Nikon's foot problem and some vehicle problems and owe a bit more than I like on our credit card 2012: - work on paying off those emergencies - change my benefits to include an HSA so I can start getting the TMJ fixed - landscape our front yard - start Pan's titles

Good:
-I got Sasha, and while it's pretty much the only good thing that happened this year; it outweighs all the bad. Bad: -My dad died in December 2010, so all of this year has been an adjustment to that. -Transferred to a school that lied to me, so I'm now spending a ton of money on a degree I don't want. -I have become very unhealthy -I haven't done any of the things with Sasha that I wanted to have accomplished -I have most likely tanked my GPA this semester, which is unfortunate because I apply to graduate school next fall. 2012: -Get healthy (eating right and exercising) -Get at least a CGC and hopefully a CD title as well -Figure out where Sasha and I are going next

GOOD
Except as noted below, the Hooligans remained healthy (knock on wood). Lost a lot of weight. Met up with a "lost" friend last Spring and got reacquainted. Saw a lot of my out of town friends during the year. Got to meet my nephew's 2 year old daughter. BAD 11plus year old Mac is having some issues. Had surgery. No $$$

Year started off really bad.
Koch got extremely ill very fast - had to put her down in April at only 2 years old. Job lost its contract (Though I didn't lost my job) - so it switched things up a lot But, I sold my side business giving me a lot of breathing room for the foreseeable future. Looks like my new business is getting venture backed funding now. So, that in itself is insanely good. First half of year: Worst of my life Second half: Best of my life
