This was my first thread from 2008:

holding wrists and jumping up

He still kind of mouths your wrists if he can't find something to pick up when he's really crazy excited and trying to initiate play with you.

Funny thread... here's my first two from 08. Lucy scratched her ears when i tried taping them and I was looking for a band aid to cover it up. Man does time fly.

Some familiar names in those threads and some I haven't seen for a while. It's funny looking back on old stuff like this.

doggie band aids?

bleeding from scratching taped ears

Heh. My first thread was very unexciting. I merely introduced myself and Dharma.

I don't remember my first thread (it was over 8-1/2 years ago!), but I do recall that my first few posts were about leash reactivity. We had been dealing with reactivity with Cassidy, so I responded on someone else's thread about some of the things we had worked on with her in the Difficult Dog classes we'd taken.

Already knew I'd be doing SAR back then. Was talking about buying a second dog and it was only Yukon at that time. Now I've got four and a fifth one on the way. Have my DEC Basic class, american CPR class, bloodborne pathogenes, and we are on the way to certify despite all the issues and imprinting one dog on Cadaver right now.

And boy was I opinionated about Crate Training... I still am but I got a lot better with that.

Hello everybody,

I am a german national, dog handler and a proud owner of a German Sheperd from the Bärenfang Kennel. I grew up with sheperds because my parents are pationate dog lovers, dog handlers and breeders so it was just a matter of time that I would take over one of our dogs.

The reason I registered on here is because I am married to an American Soldier and we are pcs'ing to the States sometime next year.

We are going to buy a second dog that I'd like to train as a search&rescue dog. In Germany it is not only the dog that needs to be trained but the handler as well. Usually you train via the red cross but in the States things are quite different. I found out that you can't take medic classes via red cross because you have to go to college for that and this is the main reason I am here, to gather information.

Take care ya'll

Can't go back that far so here is the furthest back I could go.

The blonde in the rowboat

I remember that I was one of the ones that caught the crappy people when I first started posting. My breed was labs before my GSD, I had wanted to breed labs and if I remember correctly I got hammered, even though I planned on doing all the health tests and wanted working labs.

but its ok, I forgive them. (I don't think they are here anymore lol)
