Vacuum Cleaner for Hardwood Floors - Page 3

I have a $99 Bissell bagless from Walmart. I use my floor attachments from my Kenmore upright on this one(parts are interchangable) so it works great!
As long as I use the air compressor to blow out all the filters, it has plenty of suction.

I use many vacs in my work, and the Bissell is the best bang for the buck. Lightweight, long cord and easy to clean.
It doesn't smell doggy like my kenmore cannister or my panasonic upright.
I use Miele, Riccar, Vaccuflo and Beam central vacs(my personal favorite!), Dyson, Eureka(cheap) and Rainbow, and the Riccar would be my next choice for quality, though a pain if you don't have the floor kit(and they are $$)
Mieles are heavy, I use three different models of them, and none are worth the cost. I hate the new hard floor attachment, too. The bags are small, pricey and if you have more than one shedder, you'll be changing bags often.

Central vac! Our unit itself was about $700 but worth every penny! The house was pre-ducted for it so my bf just hooked it up, but we added it to some extra outlets and it's really not that hard.
All the dust gets blown outside (in our case the garage) and it doesn't develop that "vacuum stink" that vacuums seem to get after about a year.
We have a "dustpan" outlet which is against the floor so you can sweep stuff in the sucker with a broom.... Greatest invention ever. If you can find a contractor to do it for you, don't let the price scare you, you'll never buy another vacuum in your life!

Came across this post a few weeks ago when I was looking for a vacuum cleaner and thought I'd pitch in. I found this site and both my husband and I are very happy with our new Hoover LINX. Good luck to anyone searching for a hardwood floor vacuum cleaner!

I have a Shark Navigator that picks up dog hair very well on hard surface floors or carpet and comes with a couple of attachments.

I use a mile cat and dog at home and the suction is amazing. Downside being the bags.. I use a Dyson pet at work (upright) and I hate it. Good for tile, I think that's about it.

I love my new Dyson DC39. We have all hardwood floors. Make sure you get the new model where they fixed the wand so it extends.

In Germany I'd go for Siemens, Miele or Kaercher but you don't have these options over here... there has got to be something else than the ridiculously expensive Dysons...

You can get a MIele in the USA. I have a Miele dishwasher. Just google Miele dealers in your area.
