Sorry I haven't been posting much lately! I've been super busy and very focused on work. It's a good thing, because good things may be coming to me in January
but I'm left preparing. I've been interviewing for barn jobs and I already got one offer for a paid position in January. I've been reading equitation literature non-stop and just generally been super excited about it so I forget to go and post on forums. Oh also I got married. ![]() Viking's been great. I haven't been working him lately, because the park we usually train in has turned into a giant pool of mud, but I do some training indoors. He has a new friend since my friend adopted a dog from the humane society. In January he starts PT and I will begin meeting with different specialists to discuss his leg problems. However he is pain free and a very hyper, happy dog these days.

I just heard that we are under a state of emergency here (haven't heard it on the news, but if we aren't I'm sure we are close), and I get to drive in it on crazy winding roads..I'm nervous. D:

Christmas came a little early in this house.

Well today was full of drama. I've been trying to find a pekin duckling to own as a pet(I love ducks) and I put a wanted ad on kijiji. I had someone respond to me, and at first it seemed legitimate except that they lived in a province over and had to ship the duckling to me. No problem, I've had parrots shipped to me all the time without any incident.
But then the payment sounded fishy. They were basically going to drop the duckling off at this pet shipping place that I had never heard of instead of using the airport like everyone else uses, and then I was supposed to transfer money to the pet shipping place that would then give the money to the seller. Fishy. And then I find out the account I'm supposed to send the money to is in Cameroon because allegedly their Alberta branch is closed at the moment or some crap. So I was like "uhh no deal". I was really sad though. I thought I was going to finally get a duckling that would grow into a nice fluffy cute duck. And then today I brought the dogs over to my mom's house and she left the garage door and the door to the garage open at the same time and Sascha ran away. So we chased her for a few blocks. I don't understand how people do this all the time. I've never had Sascha accidentally get out, how come everyone else does it on almost a daily basis? They'd be vigilant about keeping exits closed if it was to preserve the safety of a child, I don't see how they can be so forgetful when it's to protect the safety of a dog. Keep doors closed. Not hard. |

Yay!! We decided on Jamaica for our honeymoon. Couples Resorts does a KILLER deal for military veterans, so we're getting flights, 7 nights in a beachfront walk-out suite, all food, spa treatments, excursions, hiking trips, snorkeling, diving, private transport to/from airport, etc for about $2700. And it's very upscale...excellent. I'm looking forward to warmth!

Danielle-- this was in addition to the ongoing deal that they had for early booking-- but they have deals like that going on all the time
![]() This place is nuts. I've had more "crazy person" incidents here than anywhere else I've ever lived in my life, even Hartford, CT. I was just at CVS, where the doors used to be automated but aren't anymore, so they're really heavy. I'm walking through about a step behind another guy, and someone is right behind me. The guy doesn't hold the first door for me and lets it slam in my face. I catch it and hold it open for the people behind me. He then slams the second door in my face... hitting me and making me let go of the first door. I said "thanks a lot, guy." He gives me a nasty look, and proceeds to....follow me down the road to my house. Pulling in the driveway behind me. WTF? He booked it the second I let the dog out of the car (surprise!), who finally listened to "speak" and started barking his fool head off. |

Got new collars for the dogs for christmas. Who knew that acreages didn't have street lamps everywhere
? When I walk them around at night off leash I can't see them at all so I got them these collars that glow pretty brightly, especially Chrono's. He gets blue and Sascha gets pink.![]() I also got Chrono a blue light for his collar which is incredibly bright. I got a pink one for Sascha, but it's still coming in the mail. Chrono's is so bright, he was super far away from me behind a bunch of a trees and I could still see his blue collar and light shining through the branches. |
