Amina, I hope you have someone with you. You should probably not be alone when you are feeling like this.
I started Christmas shopping yesterday. Bought for the extended family pets (6 cats, 1 dog). Christmas shopping for pets is so much better than shopping for the humans. Although buying for my dad and my brother was easy, a bottle of single malt, a bottle of Mezcal, and a jar of blackberry moonshine and I was done. And my husband actually had me tell people that they can always just buy him beer if they can't think of any other gifts. Instead of a cookie exchange at Christmas, we basically have a booze exchange.

I hope you are feeling better, Amina. My husband deals with anxiety and depression, and while I can't say that I fully understand it...I know how tough it can be for him. I'll be thinking about you!
The conference went very, very well today. Sadly, I did not get to spend much time seeing the adorable baby cheetah, but that's just how it goes when you're a support person keeping everything moving along as it should. I am, however, glad that it is done. I am so so so tired. I also wish that my mom would remind my uncle of when Baxter is staying with them. Typically, he just walks into their house and it isn't an issue. But Baxter doesn't really know him. And when he stays with my parents, he views their house as his, and he feels that it is his job to keep it safe. He had my poor uncle cornered in the hallway by the front door, barking at him. No aggression, just wouldn't let him come any farther into the house until my mom told him that it was okay. My dad thinks that it's awesome (since he wasn't trying to hurt anyone). However, I would prefer my mom simply let my uncle know ahead of time......

Like dog like owner????????? I was wearing brown boots, brown snow pants, a brown hoodie, a black overcoat, and a black beanie today.
This is what my dog looks like. I don't know what to think. I got home and looked in the mirror, looked at my dog, looked in the mirror and thought about everyone that passed us during our walk.

It's amazing how much calmer and at ease I feel just being able to hear Baxter's breathing across the room. Things were too quiet on Sunday without him, and I hated it. I think being away from me/home is stressful for him - he is always so exhausted after we get back home. He pretty much laid down and went to sleep as soon as we were settled in.

I recieved the video of my last tracking seminar with Lonestar, last night. My trainer sang my praises. I had the big head. "I'm bad..I'm bad..I know it.."
Then I watched the video. What in the world am I doing? I look like Elmer Fudd stalking rabbits. My job is to simply allow Lonestar to work the scent, apply praise when he's on it, and pressure when he's not. But Noooooooo. I look like I'm creepin' in behind him...tip toeing along. Although he found his mark every time, he didn't get all excited and alert like he was trained to do. No wonder. I think he thought I was going to eat him or something. I'm such a dork.
