Default Somebody crashed their car into my house this morning!

What a morning and what a story to tell! First off my wife and I just had our first baby this past Tuesday and we have been sleeping on our couches instead of the bedroom upstairs for now. At 6am this morning we were changing the baby and getting ready to feed him. Our changing table is right next to the living room window and we heard screeching tires out front of our house. We then saw headlights coming straight at us. My wife grabbed the table and started pulling it off to the side to get the baby out of way. And BAM! The vehicle smashed into our home. They hit the front door and I then immediately called 911 and told the dispatcher what had happened.

The police and fire department came within a few minutes. The police said the driver was not drunk (to our surprise) and he didn't have a license. The owner of the vehicle was the passenger and she told police that she had been driving. The police asked us if this was the case and we told him no the guy was driving not her. Anyways we wrote our police report and they were taken away in an ambulance to be treated for possible head injuries.

Thankfully my family is okay and nobody was hurt. Samson (the GSD) was in the kitchen crated and we never heard a peep from him. The amazing thing was Liam (the baby) never made a sound and slept through the whole thing. I am so thankful we are all OK! Our front door has since been boarded up since the pictures. So here are the pics!

Congrats on your new member of the family!Thankfully no one was hurt
We had a similar thing happen in our area but it turned out very tragic. A drunk driver hit and killed 3 15 year old kids walk down the road then drove straight into a house very sad!

Police say a 26-year-old driver crashed into a house in Hanmer after hitting three youth, about 24 kilometres north of Sudbury on Father's Day.

Sudbury police Sgt. Gary Lavoie speaks to CTV on Sunday, June 21, 2009.

Suspected drunk driver kills three Sudbury-area teens

ctvtoronto.ca
Three Sudbury-area teens are dead after being hit by a suspected drunk driver in the early hours of Father's Day.
Local police say the three 15-year-olds -- two girls and a boy -- were walking on the side of Municipal Road 80 when they were struck by an eastbound vehicle just after 12:30 a.m.
Sgt. Gary Lavoie told CTV that the fact that it happened on Father's Day seemed to make the deaths even more tragic.
"Today is Father's Day and certainly no family wants to have a police officer knocking on the door to advise that their child has been killed," he said Sunday.
Police were called to the scene in the north part of Greater Sudbury, in the community of Hanmer, at 12:40 a.m.
The victims were taken to hospital and pronounced dead. Their names have not yet been released.
The driver of the car, a man in his late 20s, fled the scene of the accident and later crashed into a house a quarter of a kilometre away.
Police closed the road through the morning while investigating the collision scene.
Investigators have concluded that alcohol consumption was "a significant contributing factor in the collision," a finding that angers local residents.
"There's absolutely no reason for impaired driving. I can't believe things like this still happen today," Robert Gervais told CTV.
Police arrested the driver, who remains in police custody. He is facing a number of charges, including three counts of impaired driving causing death.
With a report from CTV Toronto's James MacDonald

Glad to hear all are ok. CONGRATULATIONS on Liam, enjoy every minute it goes by so fast. My baby boy is a student at Auburn and I still sometimes forget that he's not a little guy up in his room playing gameboy .
