We all know the power dogs have to help people. Dog Tags pairs trained service dogs with wounded service members. It's great to see. I now see service dogs with soldiers all over Ft. Lewis.

A trainer friend of mine is very involved with Paws For Patriots- she's trained a couple of labs for the organization. The pups come from breeders, are raised by prisoners, then put in volunteer's homes to be trained. They go back to the prison for evaluation and are given to the veteran's free of charge. It's such a great, all volunteer program. Sounds like Dog Tags is just as wonderful. The power of a dog is amazing

For soldiers who do not qualify for Service Dogs, there is also an organization called Pets 2 Vets (P2V), which pairs soldiers with former shelter dogs to serve as Emotional Support Animals. --> P2V? 2010 | Helping Heal the Lives of Our Nation's Heroes and Sheltered Pets
