I'm an only child and there aren't too many of me. My DD commented the other day about how big her childhood photo album is and how small her brother's is.

It gets tedious, but until you hit that point, it can be a lot of fun looking at the old pictures and trying to figure out who that cute chubby-cheek baby is or where that 50th shot of a snowy backyard was taken. The little scanning gadget wasn't terribly expensive and it's nice to learn more about his family and hear him calling his mom and dad to ask questions and gather stories.

Thanks Jill, How cool! I'm going to look into buying a scanner.

I always used Velvia when I went places like rain forests and jungles that have a lot of green and blue tones, as well as lustrous shades of black. But when I went to places like canyon country, Kodachrome, which was superior at capturing reds and oranges, was what I wanted.
I've always shot Ilford for B&W -- nothing has ever been as good. I guess I can go with Ilford for color too. But finding a darkroom is going be increasingly more difficult. We can hold on for now, but the world is marching past us. |
