Thanks Ruthie! Those are some excellent suggestions.

Unfortunately I don't have time to change the entire size of it but I tested it on my laptop and you are right, cuts off bottom! Since I would have to change a lot to move the menu bars I probably won't change that either though I totally get what you are saying. I will go 800x600 next time for sure, or if for a "real" web page. Paw prints are a good idea, I may add that! I am planning on putting some sort of custom animation on the front page, I just haven't been able to get to it yet and still trying to figure out what to animate, so any suggestions here would be wonderful!

This is my first Flash class and a very beginning class so I think I will get a decent grade on the project even with the flaws and will keep your comments in mind for future projects in my intermediate class which starts next term, that is focused more on Actionscript which I am anxious to learn more of.

Thanks again for the comments and help, I will post a final when I figure out what to put ont he front page

I loved the Flash class that I took, but it has been several years. I would really need a refresher. I am an instructional designer, but the training that I develop often has to be able to be edited by other people. So, that means I can't use Flash.

Do you illustrate? First thing that popped into my head is animating a stick-figure-like dog running up to a kid, a hug, then hearts going up in the air.

I didn't see anything that I would consider a "flaw". I would be really surprised if you don't get a good grade.

Thanks Ruthie! I am still trying to figure out the animation for my front page, that is all I have left to do. BTW, the last two projects got a 98% on one and 100% on the other and have earned 100% on all the quizzes and tests so right now I am at an A. Hope I get a good grade on this one!

The spider in my last project I illustrated but that was pretty lame LOL I am taking an illustration class next term though, maybe it will improve my skills. Right now I just cut and paste and alter stuff in Photoshop to make an animation.

OK - I missed the first one then. I saw the spider (that was funny) and this new one.

I went to look at your old posts to see your spider, but didn't see the post. I did see your portfolio though. Very nice! I really like your print pieces. You have a great eye for layout.

Have you used Adobe Illustrator yet? It is my favorite! I also really like InDesign, but have really only scratched the surface with a few brochures and a custom binder with tabs and job aids for our management development program.

Is your degree graphic design? Web development?

I basically took all the graphic design courses at a local university to enhance my instuctional design. I also do most of the design work for my church. Right now we are going through the process of redoing our branding. New logo, web page...

Where did you see my portfolio? I do have a few pieces and a site up at http://www.graphicmastersdesign.com/html_class/ which is actually my last HTML class project hehe.

I have actually been working in design for many years, well, about 19 years professionally, I decided to go back to college to learn the multimedia web design stuff since EVERYTHING is going that way!

I have used Illustrator but it really doesn't get used that often in the professional environment. It does get used, just not as much as Photoshop and InDesign. I am pretty much an expert at Photoshop and InDesign, have used them for many years but now I am working on the Flash and Dreamweaver which is a challenge but I think it comes easier to me than others in my class because of my past experience with Adobe programs and layout work

Oh, I replaced the spider with this newest Flash project so the spider is no longer up

That is the link I used. How funny! No wonder your stuff is so good. Here I was thinking you were a new college student. I think you should be giving ME advice. LOL!

I wish I was an 18 year old new college student! But I am a 42 year old college student LOL. I am just trying to take my design to the internet, it really is a whole new world for me! I'm really happy to be learning it though!

I appreciate all the input I can get, I like to see what others think and how they would like to see things which is why I am always asking for opinions! Yours were excellent here and I would change a few things if I had the time but since most the people viewing it won't be viewing it on the web, just the .swf file I think it should be okay. Also I know my instructor is not grading on how it looks on the web, just how it was put together. In the future I will have to test everything on my daughter's pc laptop before I decide on a layout!
