Do you agree with this method? Why or why not?

I didn't watch the video but if it works and brings those kids back from wherever they went so they can lead a normal life then it should be worth studying.

I think its great. The kid went from taking 13 meds down to 3.
The mom feeds it to him in brownies.
He gained 38 pounds. (he was 46 pounds)
The doctor on there says "Its dangerous & hes stoned"
WELL last time I checked script pills ALSO MAKE you stoned/high/whatver you wanna call it.
I give props to this mom for saving her child. IMHO
Besides weed doesnt make you want to kill yourself (ie all the other anti depressants& whatever else this poor boy was taking.)
Its natural.

nothing could be any worse than the over prescribing of pharmaceutical drugs for children.

It's terrible. The minute a kid acts out in school they stick them on ritalin. Why? Coffee will give the same effect for most low level ADD kids? Why? A high percentage are not even ADD, they just have personality! Why? Because the teachers don't want to have to deal with personalities...it's easier to deal with robots.

I listened to the news on this earlier and I have to say, if it encouraged the child to eat and gain weight, it can't be all bad. I think the mother was desperate enough to save her son to give anything a try and this just happens to be what worked for this boy. Should it be standard practice? NO...but if it works for this particular child so be it. Another use for medical marijuana.

Personally I am one of those people who rarely goes to the Dr. and use herbal remedies for what ails me, because I feel that I would rather not polute my body with prescription drugs unless absolutely neccessary.

I think as long as he isn't smoking it, why not? THC can be beneficial, as long as you are not damaging your lungs. In a brownie or tablet form, I really don't see the harm but benefits for certain situations.

personally, I have a son with autism, and its a very difficult road. I really dont think I would give him marijuana. I read about it as a therapy, and read about people shaving valium off and baking it into other foods, things like that. I chose to go down the route of therapies and canine therapy (hence Diesel) and hes come leaps and bounds since starting this. We have therapy 4 days a week, about to be 5 days a week 5 hours a day and its an assortment of ABA, speech, OT, PT, and animal therapy, and its hard, but in 5 months hes gone from a 10 month old communication level to 14 month. Hes started pointing, and he can somewhat identify body parts now, hes giving hugs and kisses. I still cant touch him in public, but hes great at letting Diesel lead him around and thankfully Diesel, even though hes just a pup, is great at following my lead

I just know the few times Ive done weed, it really messed with my head. I just couldnt see me giving it to him.

HOWEVER. Theres a mom in my mommy and me autism group who might benefit from this because her son has severe sensory problems with food. and they are about to have to start tube feeding him.

I think there needs to be more exploration of the old methods used years ago before all the supposed advances in medical science.

I wish you would expand on what you had in mind.

Having a child with autism is one of the hardest thing a parent will ever deal with. Every child with autism presents differently as well. And things change over the years. My son was the sweetest blue eyed, blond haired little boy, who would run up to complete strangers and hug them. He was bubbly, smart with an infectious smile, but sooooooo difficult on the flipside. Screaming for hours, never sleeping etc. And then at age 8 he became more and more withdrawn, obsessive and would act out aggressively because he could not understand why he no longer could act like a 4 year old. To this day he is emotionally like a very young child. I said I would never medicate him, but when he was 10, it was either medicate or hospitalize him. I have cried so many tears over this.

Unless you have a child with a severe medical problem, you just don't understand. You will do and try anything to help your child.
