My name is Diane (68)

Used to have a real life as an adjunct prof in consumer economics and director of an Educational Division of a Consumer Counseling non-profit. Now work part time at a video store. Ahh, how far the mighty fall. *smiles* Looking for work but with 17.9% unemployment, jobs are hard to find, and certainly nothing in my field.

I am divorced after 25 years of (2nd) marriage (and loving every minute of my freedom).

I have two daughters...one who at 28 lives at home AGAIN and one who is 42 who is finally divorcing her redneck, controlling, SS Nazi husband (thank the Lord). The second, older daughter is the mother of my only grandchild, who is 8.

I have two dogs -Thor (5 &1/2) and Freya (3 & 1/2), both GSD's- and two cats -Misty (9) and Callie (13)- and one feral-"Nameless" (promised he'd get a name when he let me pet him...almost 2 years later he still hasn't let me touch him but he does answer to Nameless at dinner time *giggling*) My younger daughter also has two dogs -Oliver (9), a mutt and Zar (1 yr), a pit bull- and an African Gray-Omega, who chatters constantly and whistles the entire theme from Mayberry among other tunes.

I have lived on the Outer Banks of NC for 26 years and hope to continue living here (at least until they foreclose on my house if I can't get a loan modification *grins*). Two brothers live in PA, where my family has had its roots since the mid-1600's. I'm the black sheep...er, black FISH of the family...have to live near water water water everywhere, whether there's a drop to drink or not.
